FLORIDA VLOG: Dad CRASHED, Universal Islands of Adventure, Mount Dora Segways & Disney Springs! 2024

FLORIDA FEBRUARY 2024 Day Fourteen! We start our day at Universal Orlando Resort at Islands of Adventure for early entry to the park. We get straight over to Hagrids Magical Motorbike Adventure before the park got very busy very quickly!
As the park filled up whilest we had a coffee we decided to take a last minute Segway Tour Excursion at Mount Dora, a quaint and very unique lakeside town not far from Orlando.
After a wonderful tour seeing a lot of wildlife including Alligators and Birds, we headed into the main town of Mount Dora and the main street which was full of wonderful shops and restaurants! We ate lunch in a wonderful British Pub, having some home comfort food like Steak and Ale Pie.
After a short break at the villa we head out for the night, starting at Walmart on Highway 192 for some last shopping to take home with us, including plenty of American Candy! We then head to Disney Springs for dinner at The Summer House- but it didn’t go to plan! Laura also shows you all of the Makeup and pricing in Saphora Makeup store.
For dinner we went to Chilli’s Restaurant which again was delicious, fresh and tasty!

I am split on the Disney Springs thing. I prefer the Pleasure Island for the nightlife. The bars were way better. We loved Mannequins, 8-tracks, the beach style dancing club (I can’t remember the name), and the adventurers club. I prefer the new Disney Springs for the restaurants and shopping.

How do you get early entry? It is only if your staying at there resort or an annual pass holder? How can you get on rides quicker and how much is it please?

On the Universal thing I believe it’s due to staffing, costs, an ordnance survey that says it wouldn’t be busy and would cost them more than they make to keep it open Don’t know how true it is but that’s what I’ve heard on the Universal streets

Love Disney springs but I do miss downtown Disney. I was only old enough to go to pleasure island once but me and a friend had a ball. The club with the rotating dance floor 👌. Wish they could have kept the adult only section and just updated the rest. I still can’t get my bearings in Disney springs but downtown Disney felt easier to navigate

Universal shut early purely as a cost saving measure. It's so frustrating as premier passholders paying for express after 4 and getting 2-3 hours max of it. We are back for 3 weeks in April and the parks shut at 6/7 at Universal.

Usually we do Springs first evening after arrive, MK first full day but never a last day ritual. We are mixing it up a bit on next trip though and doing a MK last full day. UK used to have Starburst jelly beans.. they were called Joosters and we're amazing.

Reason behind Universal closing early could be city walk and the nightlife scene. Lots of people who are intoxicated wouldn’t be a good look after hours. Could cause more trouble. Just a thought

Stayed at my brothers house in Mt Dora for 8 weeks a few years ago. Only bumped into one family from the UK during the entire time we stayed there. Really great place.
