on a rewatch: gators shot themselves in the foot constantly. getting penalties on 3rd and manageable, special teams miscues, fucking up every red zone attempt, and messing up easy plays like screens. o line looked bad but they also barely practiced together due to injuries and played a tough defensive line that was loading the box all game. mertz did his job for the most part, i just wish he wasnt so goddamn slow. the defense looked better after the first play but they were playing against a 3rd/4th string qb. they got in the red zone what 4 or 5 times and only had 11 points to show for it. zero urgency when they had the ball with 5 minutes left and needed two scores. hoping itll get better but this was not you'd expect in year 2 from a team that is supposed to be "lightyears ahead" of last year.

graham mertz best throws: 12:08, 16:45, 35:02, 35:22, 45:39 (more of a good catch than a good throw), 49:06 graham mertz worst throws: 2:00 ,17:10, 24:51 (seems like a miscommunication), 25:31, 27:57, 37:54, 51:18 Throughout the first half Mertz struggled with screens but then was able to hit them as the game went on. I think they planned to rely on these dump off passes throughout as they found most of their success with them in the second half and these missed throws contributed to them getting in a hole early. Play is somewhat streaky. Struggles to bounce back when rattled, but plays well when they are on a roll. He got more comfortable as the game went on but there were a handful of throws where he straight up missed the man. A couple td's that never happened because even though he made the right read, he couldnt make the throw.

Huh wym he snagged it on the corner he never even touched the ground how would the ball touch the ground he caught it standing up also the score said 24-11 meaning we were beat by 13 not 21 and if we doing that we beat ourself with stupid penalties we gifted them at least 10 points off of special teams alone then u take into account that we would drive down the friend and kill ourself with 3rd and short penalties by jumping offsides the game should of been like 25-14 or 32-14 uf Utah wasn’t the better team they were just more disciplined the first game

The D line is terrible poor tackling, D- the O line D- can’t pass or run block, kicking D- special teams D-,long year for the Gators 4 and 8 easy Go Gators😊
