Welcome back to Florida! As a palm tree enthusiast, you can see Windmill palm trees at a lot of hotels, especially brand name ones starting in north Georgia and maybe even a few around Chatanooga Tennessee. You would have to get off the highway to see them, but keep your eyes open for them when stopping for gas and food. For Palmetto trees, the same thing applies, but you can actually see them at hotels around the northern Atlanta area and south.

We moved to Cape Coral Florida in May of 2021… I am sick so my adult son and daughter took turns driving my SUV filled with stuff and my 3 little dogs and me from upstate NY to Florida ….while my husband was in his Jeep…and his passenger was my son or daughter (whoever wasn’t driving me lol) …note ..my son is moving at the end of this month just outside of Nashville Tenn with his wife and 2 young boys …. We sent our furniture etc down ahead of us to Florida in a POD. My son is using a few uhauls to make his move …. Love watching your journey… we love Florida…and wish that we had moved here like you are doing…with your family being young. My husband was worried that we would miss the kids too. Much moving so far away from them …I assured him that they would visit and swim in our pool home…. They both helped us move , first time in a decade that I had them all to myself without their spouses! We had an awesome week together…I was In HEAVEN having the 4 of us together again… since we moved my son and his family have visited 3 x and they are now moving to be only 12 hrs from us …my daughter and her husband (they got married in February on a beach here it was beautiful! ) …they came here in October and will be leaving to go back to NY soon…..so we have spent an amazing amount of time with them since we moved ! I wonder if you plan to stay in Florida ?

Hey I’m in Minnesota and been super interested to make the Florida move plunge since visiting a few years ago. It’s hard cuz I have a good paying job now. What was your reason for the move and how did you decide “alright we are doing this”? Just curious.
@asherhouseman68383 жыл бұрын
@@JLei1987 pleased to meet you. We moved because our six year old son has autism and it is healthier for him to be able to play outside all winter long instead of being stuck indoors in the cold weather. It has worked out well for us for that reason. There are some differences with Florida I don't like. The driving here in Orlando is way crazier than Minnesota and even worse than Los Angeles where I lived for three years. There is more crime here also so one has to always be on one's guard going downtown and it's not so easy asking a random person for a favor because there is more carefulness with strangers. Other than that, this place is great.

I didn’t want to deal with the critters near the water , especially having small dogs ….we live in North Cape Coral ….feels very rural but still close to store (Publix like 3 mins away ) but sooooo peaceful where we live …exactly what we wanted …Cape Coral has 4 quadrants NE, NW, SW, SE… Sw and SE are busy …. We are in NE and NW is quiet too…so it depends on where you go to in Florida …like Miami…I would never live there …. Too many ppl and more crime … Florida is HUGE -so something for everybody…I’m used to think I would like a place like The Villages ..in central Florida …but it’s too much like an HOA which I am not a fan of ….. I absolutely LOVE where I live-- we have retires but a lot of younger families too,…and we are next store to Fort Meyers …and NE Cape is very close to Fort Meyers. We are less than 2 miles to the free bridge over to Fort Meyers …. (Between Fort Meyers and The Cape you want for nothing ! ) … I did a lot of research before we moved …. And I am so happy where we landed …. As for “being too hot” in summer season.. we have a pool, the ocean -…. And Air conditioning everywhere lol so no problem at all…. if you love sunshine and hate to freeze… this is it … I only have one regret, that we didn’t move here sooner ☺️
