Ondrej Nepala was Slovak skater representing Czechoslovakia... trained by his coach Hilda Mudra...Austrian born lady who fell in love with a Slovak man...and lived in Bratislava as Slovak national speaking Slovak language and German!!! Czech skater? Well , general Wikipedia..states something different..The commentator knows nothing about Ondrej Nepala.....why would it annoy Slovaks? The commentator is showing how ignorant he is towards other nations....

@@janakumlec5363 As an austrian this is interesting. Mudra was born hildegard klimpel and emerged from the vienna skating school and later studied geography and biology at vienna university before moving to then cssr. She also coached the legendary josef sabovcik. Somehow the slovakian version of jutta müller.

Floskate- Wow! You are a genius! This is so much better than the old black and white, foggy versions of 72 and 73! Question: Is Ondrej's 73 short program available anywhere on youtube? Since it is the only one he ever did, naturally we have all been trying to find it (especially his fans on his facebook page.) Any word on that? Thanks!

Nor would Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Martina Navratilova, Joe Namath, Wilt Chamberlain, or Olga Korbut -- all among the greatest champions of their sports -- be competitive today. Athletes are products of their time; as technology, training, equipment, skills, etc., develop, standards change. You cannot diminish the accomplishments of one of the greatest skaters of his day by comparing him to skaters in 2017. The sport has progressed and the criteria by which its athletes are/were measured have changed, as well. What may look antiquated to you now, was state of the art in 1973. With this in mind, it is fairly safe to assume that today's top competitors will seem similarly behind the times 20-30 years from now.

Michael Vaughn...I agree with you. Although I don't think the human body could do more than a quad. The sport has pretty much peaked at quad jumps. That said, today's level of skating will stay relevant and up to standards for all time.
