Coached by the inimitable Gladys Hogg, Diane Towler & Bernard Ford bridged the gap from the old style of ice dance and a more modern approach to the free dance which ultimately paved the way for Torvill & Dean and all that came after. In only their third world appearance - following a 13th place finish in 1964 then rocketing up to 4th in 1965 - they one the first of four consecutive world ice dance titles. This championships was also the second to last Worlds held outdoors in Davos, Switzerland.
