I haven't crossed stitched in over twenty years. I began doing it when my children were little and I needed to relax and escape the drama. Watching you stitch has made me want to begin again. I was never as good as you but I did enjoy it. Your work is beautiful!

Hi, Luyda! Totally agree with you - using thicker needle makes stitches bigger but more neat and the threads are not getting fluffy and thinner so quickly because of rubbing repeatedly through the holes in fabric. And it depends of course on the count of the fabric you use for your stitching.

Thank you so much Luda for taking the time to show this. I never realized what a difference a needle size would make! I am doing a small piece right now that I thought I needed 3 ply for coverage, but I will be so glad when it’s finished as I do not like stitching with 3 ply!

I am not a new stitcher having picked up a needle over a decade ago, but I never knew the size of the needle could effect the stitch, thank you!

Thank you so much Luda for taking the time to show how you stitch. I learnt many things from your video especially the way you start with your thread. I also would love to see the way you finish off your thread too. The needle difference is quite amazing in the end result and I have always used a small needle, but I will now be more mindful of this. Your work is just magnificent and please continue to make videos in English as they are very much appreciated. ❤️

I have been using smaller needles-mostly 28s. It is interesting to see the difference in the fullness and smoothness of the stitches with the larger needles. Also I really like the way you start your stitches. It looks so much much more efficient than other ways I have tried.

Very good demonstration. A sampler teacher, Eileen Bennet, always says to use a bigger,24, needle. And here, you can see the difference first hand.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make the demonstration video. I have been stitching for many years but I did not know that the needle size makes a difference in the stitch, that was very interesting to find out. Mostly I stitch with 2 threads on 28 ct or 18 ct, but I do like the better color saturation that you get with 3 threads. You have inspired me to go back to 14ct so I can use the 3 threads :) I love all your large fuller coverage pieces

Thank you for this video showing the difference in stitches when different needles are used! I hope you are now in your apartment and somewhat settled. I have been binge watching your past videos in Russian. You have stitched so many beautiful designs! I have the Dimensions kit “Parrot Tulips” already so I may start on that fairly soon along with Mirabilia Shimmering Mermaid which I have almost finished. xoxo Nancy

Nice demonstration! Thank you! I ran into my first pattern this year asking for three threads. I was a little shocked and had to go onto my FB groups to ask if that was right or some sort of printing error. lol It's NOT something you run into a lot. (Though, yes, this was a Dimensions kit. Which I haven't done before.)It's nice to see someone actually DOING it. I think it's still going to feel weird, though. :D

I'm so jealous of your tension! I've tried every frame imaginable and never get my Aida to stay taut. I just bought a new bar frame where you "pin" it to the wood, and am about to try it out for the first time. It's certainly not as nice as yours. How do you do it? Hoops never give me that effect. I also am doing a bigger, full coverage design that I'm about to try parking for the first time using 3 ply on 14 count Aida. Any tips on how to get such nice taut Aida and clean stitches?

Can you do side stitching for printed patterns that go that direction and then up and down stitching for other stitches Or do I have to choose between these 2 stitches ? Then do one for the entire stitches for the cross stitch pattern??
