Thanks. No one ever explains this part of 1 over 1. I figured it out. It's not so bad once you understand the 9 holes, 1 square, and which corner the stitch needs to be in. This is great. Thanks so much!

Are you kidding me lol. This video is so precise, it shows me exactly what I needed to know. I have never stitched 1x1 on 25ct before, its looks so tiny. I thought I'd got it wrong, because I thought the whole design would turn out really tiny. You have put my mind at rest Danielle. A Big THANK YOU. x

I am not a new stitcher but I have never stitched one over one. And like you, I have run into this technique on a Drawn Thread pattern. I have been going slow and finishing each stitch as you suggested and so far my count is correct. For the future, I would not choose this stitch, but I was glad to have the chance to learn. I know you did this video 6 years ago but I watch all your videos. Thank you!

Hi. I have been cross-stitching off and on for almost 30 years, and have never done "one-over-one," much less on 28 count even weave, and now have a project which requires both! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. You have given me the confidence, and taught me the skill needed to complete my project. It is even more telling of who you are as a person that you made this video when you were not feeling well - and months later; someone like me is ever grateful of your generosity. Thank you!

One of your best instructional videos yet! I am a 14 count AIDA stitcher, mainly because I have such a difficult time seeing the fabric. That being said, I hear so many of our Flosstube Friends raving about how much they love certain fabrics...all that are either evenweave or linen. I feel the urge to at least TRY to stitch a project on a fabric other than my 14 Ct AIDA, but don't really know how to even chose what I should try next. Could you help? Could you explain to those of us who are AIDA stitchers, how to make that leap to other fabric types? Thanks Danielle.

Ladytoothdoc CKM did you watch my evenweave video? To me going from aida to 28 count Lugana, as you can see the holes well on Lugana above any other evenweave fabric, in my opinion, is your best bet. You just have to jump in and try it! You could also use a magnifier to help you see the holes in evenweave. I have a clip on magnifier product review coming up soon!

@Stitcherista

Aida Stitches besides frogging the stitches or fudging it to make it work with what you have left to stitch, I know of no way to fix a mistake when stitching 1 over 1, unless you want to start your project completely over! I find that using a magnifier when stitching 1 over 1 helps me to not make mistakes as I can see the holes better.

This helped thank you!! Now, maybe this is a dumb question-don’t laugh please, I’m probably not thinking clearly as it’s 1:40 a.m and I’m watching videos instead of sleeping. 🤪. Your pattern showed you where to stitch on that fabric. How do you follow another pattern that has one symbol per Square? say a pattern maybe for aida? Do 4 x’s per symbol/box? Am I even making sense? It looked like your pattern was made for working on the fabric you are but I guess I’m Saying what if I was doing a pattern say that was for Aida and I wanted to do on 25 count. Would I do 4 x’ 1over 1 per box on written pattern. Does that make sense? Or am I just thinking too hard about it?

@Stitcherista
@Stitcherista 6 жыл бұрын
Maggie Coughenour 1 over 1 is one strand over one thread of fabric. 2 over 2 is two strands over two threads of fabric. Many people will do skin on mirabilia 1 over 1, even though it is charted for 2 over 2. In that case you would have to do four x's per X on the chart. There are other videos on KZbin that explain 1 over 1. If mine does not make sense, you can probably find others that will be helpful.
