Arica I just love your FlossTube. I love the softness of your voice it’s so calming. I could sit and listen to you talk for hours. I love that you brought your daughter Ava on. I just love seeing the younger generation getting into stitching and other hand crafts. We need to keep it going for generations to come. Your Christmas decorations you made as a child are amazing. When you should the one with the bells in the little round frame I also made that one. If I remember right it came as a kit of several patterns and I made them all. I think I still have them with our Christmas decorations. Love your projects that you are working on. Looking forward to your next FlossTube 😊

Wow what lovely comments Pauline and thank you for watching :) Funny we even stitched the same ornament 30 years ago and you still have yours as well - I love it! Yes my daughter has told me I have a "floss tube voice" (soft and calm) and a "real life voice" (loud and aggressive) haha I like to think it is the difference of a mama in a calm state vs a state with children not listening and the house a disaster haha! Happy stitching :)

Arica, that was such a wonderful flosstube!!! Ava is delightful! I loved everything about this video so I don't even know where to start. I think what touched my heart the most was looking at the ornaments and stockings that you or your mom made and seeing what treasures they are to you, to this day....and then, Ava did the same thing with the ornaments you and her nana had made her! It is always such a joy to see the younger generation stitching/crafting. Your tree is magnificent Arica, and thanks again for doing this special video. Happy stitching!

Hello again. I enjoyed your flosstube. It is certainly beautiful to pass down ornaments. It is continuity and shows deep love i believe that you have for the recipient. That saying that goes something like this when i give you what i make with my hands i show you my heart. That Red cardinals is amazing. I look forward to seeing how you finish it. Hi to Ava, keep it up your stitching is lovely.

Arica that was such a great video. I can’t get over those ornaments you made for your children last year! Wow!! I loved when Ava told the story about her finding the bag with them. The look on your face was priceless!! And that Owl Forest embroidery finish that I saw during the week is perfect. I haven’t started that one yet but I will finish it into a pillow. And I totally agree with the European stitchers. They do great stitching and embroidery.

A little tip on flat finishing I do. Glue down some cotton quilt batting on top of the mat, trim to fit, then place your stitching on. If you have a square piece fold over the edges like you would a wrapped package and glue down. If you have a round or oval stitch lace it on. The batting separates the stitch piece from the glue and it is also forgiving of being off set. Also by folding the fabric over the board you eliminate any glue stains from showing through. Check out Helen D and/or Vonna Pfeiffer the Twisted Stitcher both are on KZbin and have finishing tutorials.

Arica, such lovely videos! After seeing your comment on my video I came here and binged your two videos 😊 I’ve stitched one of those mill hill sleighs, the one with the white dog because the dog looks just like my parents’ dog. I gifted it them last year, such nice ornaments! It’s so nice to see all the things made with/by/for your kids, they will hold onto those for years to come, I’m sure! Full of special memories. Love that you choose to film by the Christmas tree and show us some past crafted ornaments. I really want to try the round one that you linked the pattern for (Ava’s favorite), it looks so complex! I’d love to see a picture of your mom’s framed piece with the children nestled in bed, maybe you could insert a picture on your next Flosstube! It’s our Thanksgiving Day here in the US, so after we get back from a day of eating with family and friends, I’m thinking a new start may be in order. I have Kringles all kitted up, so can’t wait to join you in stitching it! Happy Holidays! So glad you are doing flosstubes!
