Beautiful stitching ladies! Found you thanks to Pam and Steph. I love the colors on your pumpkin piece. Gentle Arts floss is known for dramatic differences in their dye lots. So your antique lace could really be the "same" as the brown one you got. It's best to buy extra for any project you stitch in that floss because of the dramatic changes. Can't wait to watch more.

So glad to find your Flosstube! I really enjoy your enthusiasm for crossstitch. And… I stitched in the 80’s .. and started back again in 2019 right before the pandemic started. It truly saved me and kept me going ! So happy you are sharing this fabulous hobby/craft together!! That is so special !! And by the way… I stitch my crosses “backwards” too compared to most people. It just feels natural to me. I looked back at some older pieces and I did it then too!! I’m not changing !! 🤠❤️

Wait until you look at the HAED designs! Heaven and earth designs. The blended threads and half and quarter stitches will blow your mind. They are what drew me back into stitching after a long break. They are like true paintings. And huge full coverage.

I love that you justify purchasing patterns as a way to keep people in their homes. I’m using that thought process the next time I buy a pattern I “don’t” need! I also started stitching in the ‘80s. I was 2 in the 80s as well 😂😂😂 ok I was slightly over two (teens) but my mom was cross stitching and I was not. I was actually crocheting little purses and things like that. As you can tell I’m finally catching up with you two! 😊😊

I heard a shout out on another floss tube to check you two out and I’m so glad I did ◡̈. What fun for a mother and daughter to venture out in the floss tube community!! Amy I’m one of the stitchers that started cross stitching in the late 80’s, early 90’s and took a loooong break with kids entering grade school & middle school. Started back up during the pandemic and like you, was thrilled with all the new designers, linens and fancy floss. Ali, (sp?) I wish one of my daughters was interested in cross stitch but … I’m going to teach our 9 year old granddaughter this summer and I’m hoping she will fall in love with some fun charts I’ll share with her ◡̈. In mid or early November I decided I could not buy another pattern. I needed to use what I have (I've been stitching one thing or another before the 80s). Because it is hard to look at all the new creativeness and long, I started a spreadsheet in Excel with a column for Designer, Name of Project, Floss Tube Mentioned, etc. Pam of Just Keep Stitchin' is on a pattern hold for 2024, too. It's hard! But so far, so good. I notice your sweatshirt is from Grand Valley, which is just west of here. Go Michigan teams! Love your enthusiasm and the fact that your videos are not l-o-n-g. Have a good trip each of you.

I also made a “stitch from stash only”resolution this year but it is so hard. I have made up another reason to break the resolution -the chart may sell out and I will never be able to get it🙂

Love your videos! I started stitching in the ‘80’s too & stopped. My daughter started stitching during the pandemic & got me started again. It’s just the best doing it with her!! I am so sorry for the loss of your husband. I know it’s not same at all but I lost my mother & best friend not that long ago, my daughter and the counted cross stitch have gotten me through some tough times. The stitching really helps !! It relaxes me & takes my mind of that huge void in my life. So my advice: buy as many charts as you want & budget allows & stitch whatever gives you joy that day! We are retired ! It’s time to enjoy now!!

Just found your flosstube! I too am a retired nurse and started to cross stitch again. My goodness what a change has occurred. I was previously isolated and limited on patterns but not anymore with flosstube. I too am trying to stitch from patterns I have but all the Sals and new designs make it hard. I am finishing my Valentine Quaker and the ripe melon was not available so I used some rose silk I had from a previous project and a favorite color of mine. What fun and I love using silk floss. Have a blast in your travels and I will watch you on your next flosstube! Aren't the floss bossin cousins wild. They make me feel like home because I am from Tennessee but have retired to the Panhandle of Fl.

I totally understand why you guys gained popularity so quickly, you're personable, fun and do great projects. Amy, there are stitchers who get anxious with too many WIPs, I am one who would be beyond anxious if I only took one project on a trip! I've been known to take as many as 3 or 4 (usually smallish). I may only work on the one as intended - but what if I'd forgotten the thread or I should get bored or something unimaginable should happen. I will applaud you for being so good as to take only one, but will be anxious for you and hope you finish it and have a great time on the trip overall!!

Thank you for your kind words!!!!. I'd probably take another, but am pretty limited as to how much I can take. I'll also be pretty busy. Plus, I am a person who can't have too many starts or none will get done. Fascinating the way different brains work differently!!! It's what makes us all so fun!
