Flosstube #21 - Update and I get a bit emo about Teresa Wentzler!

I just recently came back to stitching and was so sad about TWs Dragons. I had luckily kept most of the patterns I wanted but I wanted to restitch Dragon Ride, luckily I found the magazine on Amazon so I'm happy to have it again. I'll also be making myself feel better about the situation by stitching the Dragons. 'Boycotting' discontinued designs seems a bit silly to me.

I love TW work as well and have one of the Carousel horses but would like the rest . Not sure where to find them. I agree with you about her and her work. They are hers and she can do as she wishes. Loved your video.

Hope your tooth is better soon. Sounds painful. Interesting to read about Teresa Wentzler. My second ever finish was one of her designs. I didn't know it was supposed to be difficult so I just stitched it! I would like to stitch Poppy.

It’s sad when a designer won’t to pull her designs from being sold but it is up to the designer. And we should all thankful for her Designs that they have done. I would like to stitch the poppy fairy.

Love seeing your progress on your wips and new starts! I've only stitched one dragon in all my stitching years and I'm not s fan, but I understand how upsetting it can be to have so many charts retired, especially TW ones which are so beautiful. It's her decision and people need to respect that. I'd love to stitch Poppy ! I have some of the other pixies as wips and they look awesome. Thanks for another video, Clare! Greetings from Spain

I have binged all your videos and really enjoyed them. Love your sense of humor, made all the more fun with the accent. Have to admit I'm not really into most of the designs you work on BUT I do so very much appreciate your enthusiasm and stitching talent and, let's face it, we all have a shared blanket love of cross stitch. Well thanks Claire. I had no idea cross stitch ATCs existed until I watched this. For a brief period I was obsessed with LTCs - letterbox ATCs. We hand carved rubber stamps and made trading cards. I think I see trouble ahead... 😉

Well said! I was very surprised like many people were on the FB group. I think it's so sad to be so creative and no longer feel able to share those beautiful designs. However I took heart from the person who said "We got Anne Rice back"! The designs still exist and those of us that own them should definitely continue to stitch them. Dragons will always exist in our hearts. As will poppies, I would like to stitch Poppy!

Hi Clare, It is nice to see old friends from the TWBB. I really enjoyed your video and now that I see your videos I am going to go back and watch them all. I have also loved Teresa"s designs since I became aware of them in 2000 when her brother Andrew gave me Stretch when he saw me stitching at a faculty meeting. At the time he was a visiting professor in my department. I am full agreement with you and will stitch TW designs until I can not stitch anymore. I am also a Mirabilia fan and I would love to stitch Poppy. I look forward to watching all your videos.

I was going to comment that I hoped your tooth felt better soon -- then I saw the date on the video. I definitely hope that's only a distant memory by now. I didn't realize that the TW dragon designs were gone, but those weren't my favorites. I've got quite a few of her other charts in my stash to keep me busy. (It's those Thomas Kinkaide Disney kits that I'm sad I missed out on!)

Hey, just found you, and love your flosstube. Yeah I am sad TW did withdraw here patterns. I am one of those that did not get any pattern from TW was saving money to buy all I wanted, and agree with you on the TW we can not judge here, it is sad. But I will try and get my hands on the dragons I wanted and stitch them in the future. I would like to stitch poppy.

I have loved Teresa Wentzler forever too!! Sorry about the dragons as I adore Dragons also. I have her "Needle Guardian" dragon and it has been a WIP for a long time. Glad I have it now. Loved your video.

OMG- I'm one of those people who were waiting for getting Teresa's dragons later on... It's super sad but it's her creations... though it's like waiving chocolate in front of my nose and suddenly hiding it...:( I'm stitching different type of dragon righ now but will live vicariously through you... I love your Celestial Dragon piece it is so beautiful! I was also bummed and a little shocked by Teresa's sudden pulling of all her gorgeous dragons! I have idolized her work since I first began stitching about 23 years ago and her dragons are my favorite also. Luckily I think I have all the main dragon ones that I wanted before she did that but the without warning part is sad since there was no opportunity to get any that you still wanted. Hello, Clare. Just discovered your videos. Recently purchased The Guardian from a stash unloading group and am hoping to put it into my rotation (as soon as I finish LOTF!). I've been stitching almost 40 years and so didn't expect to be a bit toungue tied by the busy-ness of the pattern, tbh. I have had the pattern enlarged, but some parts aren''t as clear as I would have hoped so if I can;t make a few repairs, I'll be pullig the original to confirm what I'm seeing to what it actually is. Do you have any suggestions for the best plan of attack for this pattern? I'll certainly appreciate any help you can give. Thank! from NJ, USA

I couldn't agree with you more in regards to TW. She owns her Images and can take them down if she wishes. Just so sad. With retirements and sudden deaths, and now this it seems like we keep losing a little bit of the rich fabric that makes up the flosstube community. It is so important that we support these wonderful talents as a Thank You for the pleasure and inspiration they give us. Ohhh and I would like to Stitch Poppy.

Her decision needs to be respected, however disappointing it may be for us groupies, and it doesn’t change my admiration for her work one jot. Your HAED dragon is a seriously good-looking beastie! Hey!!! Is the abscess what was caused the migraines? I've been so absolutely upset about the children getting separating @ the Mexican border. My ex illegally took my son & I haven't seen or talked to him in 8 yrs! 💔😈 so it's personal for me. They won't be able to reunite many families cuz they didn't document them in any way. Could you imagine that. I @ least can start doing something cuz I'm getting heathier & start fighting but what about them???

I’m pretty bummed about the TW dragons because I’m one of the people who didn’t buy them all figuring I had time. A warning would’ve been nice. Thank goodness I got The Castle! That said, I respect her decision even though it may bum me out. They are her designs and she can do whatever she wants with them! I’ll just weep in the corner about all of the ones I didn’t get :(.
