I have had problems stitching patriotic for the past few years too. I put out my old stuff but just don't want to stitch any now. Thought I was the only one. Felt good to hear I'm not alone. I've been focusing on bees.

Yes! Thank you! I was wondering if it’s just me thinking there are WAY more patriotic designs coming out these days or I’m just “noticing” it more? I think they sell really well and the designers keep cranking out more chasing profit 🥴

Never been huge into patriotic stuff (also as Canadian not that catered too!) but there’s so much variety to summer beyond one day/weekend! Love the diversity you are embracing, I’ve tried doing some smaller conversions and it’s tricky sometimes with the limited palette of floss

You sure earned that iced coffee! Yes, patriotism is a difficult one these days. 2 1/2 years ago I stitch the Ukrainian coat of arms encircled by a heart thinking it would be on my wall for a short while and yet...it remains there. Toying with doing a piece with a Palestinian theme now but will I come to understand that it could be a new focus every year or two?! Love to see what you're working on and what you've been reading. ;0)

@deniseniemann52704 ай бұрын
@@kansascitygirlinacoloradow4285 I’ve been leaning towards a 25 count over one. But the DIL and I are also talking about taking a trip to Under the Sea fabric store. It’s about a two hour drive from us and I may have her special dye some fabric so I can get the cut I want and a color the DIL loves for the background. I’m sort of thinking a deep gray versus a total black.

Hey Julie! Beautiful stitching as always! I really love The Witchy Stitcher tarot card piece! What did you use to get that beautiful black fabric, is it just rit black? I’ve also been struggling with the patriotic stitching for a while. I still do it some, but not as much as I used to and definitely not with the same joy as I used to feel for it. That’s why I decided to do more nautical/ beachy pieces for my summer decor! So thank you for sharing the mermaid piece because I’m super into mermaids right now! Happy Stitching!

Love the parade. Wondering what color number did you use for Pisces lady?. So glad to hear about your views on diverse stitching. Also your fabric colors are awesome. Do you stitch in hand or hoop?
@kansascitygirlinacoloradow42854 ай бұрын
Thank you! If you mean dye color for the Pisces fabric, I just used a mix of several random dyes, so it’s unfortunately not repeatable. If you mean DMC color for skin, I can look that up on the pattern! I stitch mostly in a qsnap or a lightweight Nurge hoop. I try to stitch in hand occasionally like for large sections of fill in, but I’m always unhappy with how my stitches look messier!
