It's good to see a video from you. It sounds like you've had a really busy summer and fall! I stitched my first piece on perforated paper in 2020; I was skeptical but I love it. The magnetic frames make a huge difference to me; I like that my threads don't get caught on the edges. When I stitched my first piece on 14 count perforated paper, I didn't see that the suggested number of strands was 3 and I used 2 the same as I do on 14 count aida or 28 count evenweave. My stitches seem to lie fine that way, I think stitching with 3 would make my stitches messier and not as even. Try stitching with 2 and see if you like it better. I just started another Mill Hill kit on perforated paper this week; I had some surgery and have been spending a lot of time in bed with my foot propped up and it's easier to see with less than optimal lighting (and the piece I picked has lots of blocks of color which fits my attention level right now.) I've had trouble getting into fall stitching this year. I'm down in the Catskills and our weather has been so weird that I haven't really gotten the fall vibes going. It's supposed to be cooler this weekend again, so I hope to pull out some leaves and pumpkins to stitch on! 🪡👠
@lookwhatsinmyhoop3 күн бұрын
@@stitchinginhighheels9529I didn't even think of using two threads. Thank you so much for the suggestion! I have several Mill Hill kits and I really want to do them all! I think it's been a warmer fall than normal but the colors this year are beautiful!

I love the kitten story as I have 3 now ...after a feral cat gave birth under my patio. I have to ask how you manage to decorate so beautifully with all the cats especially the kitten?? I'm so afraid to decorate for Christmas! Any tips would be helpful. I actually live in upstate NY too and yes, this weather has been awesome!! Enjoy your busy life, it goes by in a blink....I'm enjoying grandbabies now 🤦♀️. Where do you go for framing, I'd love to find a reputable framer . Love all your stitching and videos Kathy 🧡🎃🧡

@@kathyc2959 Hi! Where is upstate do you live? I take my pieces to The Frame Place in Mohawk. She does beautiful work. When it comes to decorating with the cats... honestly..I don't worry about it. My cats usually ignore the decorations and I don't get upset if a kid or a pet breaks something. It's just stuff. Anything that is too precious to me, I do put in a spot where it is more protected. But, I will say that I always have to tie my Christmas trees up. The cats and dogs have knocked over more than one chasing each other!

@lookwhatsinmyhoop oh my goodness, that is right near me. I live in Frankfort. I've always wondered about that place ....was afraid they might be too expensive but your framed pieces look beautiful. I might have to check them out. Thank you!
@lookwhatsinmyhoop3 күн бұрын
@kathyc2959 it definitely depends on the size, frame, and type of glass. I only frame pieces that I truly love and want for the rest of my life. But, I went to frame something at Michaels when they had their 70% off framing sale and I didn't get a great vibe from them. I didn't get the impression this person knew how to frame cross stitch. So I went to the frame shop and it was within just a few bucks of the Michaels quote, and I know the owner can do a beautiful job. If I had the piece framed at Michaels at regular price would have been pushing $1000. It's crazy.
