Creme Brûlée is a love or hate fabric and I am liking it more and more as I see people using it. Please continue showing your pieces that you are working on every two weeks. I love to see the progress. There are so many wonderful things that you do and it is so fun to see how it grows. Mary 395 is so beautiful!! I love it but it is so intimidating in terms of size and stitching, oh my goodness. But it looks so beautiful, thanks for sharing. Love the colors on the Courage chart. I had been teasing you about Mary 395's 3-legged cow, figuring samplers have quirks as may the young girls stitching them. I'm glad that HATS is able to restore the cow to full appendage count. I'm also relieved that the animals in the Moonlight Garden are indeed well, and looking lovely. I enjoy seeing your red samplers every time. They're very pretty, though dare I say it - you now have a goose with no body; it's good the vet's on speed dial. It's always a joy to see you, Sarah, and all your beautiful pieces. That Ira Ray, he was a dapper fellow before, but now he's got real attitude (great finishing job!). On the very sweet sewing bird, if you're concerned about your stitching, you could run some threads across the spool (like satin stitch) to cover the spots you don't like. That was a sweet insert of you and Stan. I see you're auditioning for the cover of Harlequin romances. I'm sure they'll be real bodice rippers. Good luck and happy stitching.

I did fix the cow’s leg because the vet’s bill was reaching astronomical amounts, but I will admit I struggled a bit with the decision having grown a bit found of my three legged cow. What a lovely floss-tube post! Happy Birthday, belatedly...I'm a bit behind in watching and keeping track. I'm so glad you're coming to Canada next year. I won't be at Stitch North (I live in Western Canada and it's a long way to Ontario) but I dearly love Caroline and Kerry (sp?) and all things Evertote and Roxy Floss, and am so proud of what they've done to put Canada's stitching community "out there". I know you'll have a wonderful time! If you have some ability to take some extra time, it's not that far from London (ON) to Niagara -- and Canada's Horseshoe Falls are something to see. Also Upper Canada Village and our capital, Ottawa...if you can spend some time. Thanks for mentioning Ruth Gibb and HATS. I don't often note 'firsts' (I've been stitching on and off for 60 years) but realized as you spoke that "Ruth Gibb" was my first HATS sampler too, and (I think) my first red sampler! I was taken with Ruth because my maternal grandmother's maiden name was Margaret Gibb, and her daughter, my mother, was Margaret Ruth (she went by Ruth). Doing the sampler took me down a path to thinking about a) researching my mother's family (not done yet!) and b) stitching a Scottish-type sampler to mark my *father's* family, the Rennie family, originally from Kilsyth and area in Scotland. I contacted HATS about designing a sampler, and Nicola (be still, my heart!) wrote back -- and we had a Zoom chat in which she gave me encouragement to find a way to create my own! I have found just the thing in a Scottish-style sampler -- not a reproduction -- "Keziah Campbell 1796" from Linda at Needlemade Designs. Then some dear friends bought me the pattern -- all kitted up with the fancy flosses!! -- for my 70th birthday, which was last September. (Bought through Traditional Stitches in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.) I've just had another first with that -- my first charting of the initials from my father's family -- his parents, my father, and my aunt and uncle (his siblings). What a wonderful adventure this continues to be, and I thank you again for being part of it from where I sit with my stitching. Many blessings to you for the year ahead.

Another lovely video, Sarah - thank you! Isn’t it wonderful when you can get all your family together. Like you, it doesn’t happen for me very often, though I do see them separately more often. The last time we all got together was in April of 2022 when my family surprised me for my 70th birthday by renting a big house near the sea (my favourite place to be) for us all to have a weekend together. We had such a great time and made lots of great memories. Loved seeing your WIPs. I’m thinking of starting that Have Courage piece for Pam’s SAL. I already have it in my stash so it seems like a good idea, especially since I can’t get hold of the Praiseworthy Stitches chart in the UK.

Nicola's satin stitch tutorial is really helpful! From that video, you stitch each from bottom to top (the back will mirror the front) all the way across the row and then go back over the first set of stitches if you want a fuller look. From the photo on Blackbird's pattern, they don't specify what they did, but 1 pass looks more prim. Love spending time with you and your projects - thank you for making videos for us to enjoy!!!

As always it is so wonderful to see your videos! I loved seeing the pictures of your family, they all looked so happy. You certainly manage to stitch a lot even your "slow" time! I am working on Have Courage pretty much monogamously, because I can't put it down. And I am changing all of the colors out on the flowers from the pinks to purple/teals and I am loving it! It is my first time making such big changes to the color on something. I did have a bit of help at Acorns and Threads in picking out some complimentary colors to go with what I was determined to use. :)

I see what you did on the spool. I think it's personal choice there, because most people won't even see the overdyed thread issue!
