If you don't want to have too many DMC duplicates (particularly since a lot of full coverage projects only use a small portion of a skein), maybe look into plastic floss organizers/cards. I got mines from Amazon and it comes in a pack of 10, with 20 holes per card (10 on each side). I cut a length of floss of each colour it calls for and refill as necessary, while saving the rest of the floss in a "master set" that I can draw from for other projects as well. The only exception is when the project calls for multiple skeins of a specific colour, then I'd get the required amount needed to avoid dye lot changes. That way, I'm not lugging around a massive amount of floss everywhere I go, as well as "save money" on getting multiples of the same DMC colour. Hope you and your family had a good Christmas!

Love your flosstube. Been spending a good part of christmas watching you and your lovely stitching. ❤️ I live in Sweden and I guess its quite expensive to kit up and buy stuff here aswell. Never really been thinking about it untill I saw all people in like US who have a lot of stuff. One of my favorite sea creatures is octopus. They are such inteligent creatures! And its such a nice pattern. 🐙

Beautiful finishes. Maybe you can find the hoops in a "bruktbar". They have a lot of frames most of the time. Now I want to start Ragnarok as well (because I live in Norway too). I bought from lakeside needlework and had to pay a lot of extra costs. But I also bought from etsy (yarnstories from Litouwen) no extra costs. Happy new year!

@@stitchingmoon that is great that I can start Ragnorak with you all. I like to stitch with others. But I'm a very slow stitcher. I think I will stitch it on old pink fabric with dmc 3799 or dmc 310 I don't know. There is here never stitching stuff by bruktbar. But for the children a lot of toys and clothing. And beautiful tableware and things like that. But also a lot of frames.

Hi Megan! Your ornaments are all so cute. Love Peter Polar Bear. Merry Mouse is adorable. Oh man, so sorry for your struggles with the heirloom. I hope you can still order the floss and the dye lot has not changed too much. Congrats on finishing the Q Snap for Together. Nice progress on San Fran. So happy you found the chart you needed to complete your collection. Do you have any idea what size small frames you are looking for? I have a bag of small frames for ornaments, like 3" or so, that I am probably not going to use that I would be willing to send to your family here in the States if you are interested in ones that small. They are different shapes, sizes and colors. I got sick of trying to pull floss from one project to another so now if the pattern needs anywhere close to a skein or if it is not in my master set, I am ordering a skein of floss. I have 70+ WIPs so I was wasting a lot of time hunting for floss. I am hoping for more finishes this year than the 19 I had this year. I hope to start some of my oldest kits and work on my oldest WIP and HAED. I am hoping for at least 6 hours a month on my oldest WIP which is Flights of Fancy by Stoney Creek, which is an itchy afghan but I have finally come up with a solution to avoid some of the itchiness, and 6 hours a month on my HAED, Mini The Nativity along with all the other things I am doing for the magazine monthly cross stitch challenge, which is a Facebook group. In addition for the probably next couple of years at least, I will continue to watch my grandson from around 2 p.m. on Tuesday until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and noon or earlier on Saturday until usually 6 p.m. or later on Sunday. By the time he leaves, this grandma is wore out. One of the disadvantages of waiting to have a child until you are 27 and then she waits to find the right guy (for which I am very proud of her doing in this day and age) and does not have a child until she is 36. First time grandma at 63 with overnights since he was about 3 weeks old has been a wonderful time and the main reason my mom and I left Michigan to be in Texas, but sure is tiring. Plus I am not used to being around the kids so I am currently diagnosed with a Mycoplasma pneumonia (walking pneumonia) which I probably caught from Walter. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas/New Year if I don't talk to you before. Happy stitching.

Thank you Dawn! Ugh I hope you feel better soon! And right before the holidays! Wow you have so many WIPs and finishes! All your projects are looking good. You might just want to take the time to grid the complicated parts of that table cloth. A 50-60 weight shiny (poly etc) sewing thread is good enough, and it might help you know where you are. Just think of it as full coverage...

Hello dear :) At first a very belated Merry Christmas from me ;) Hope you had a nice time with your husband, your daughter and your relatives (a broken pipe CAN'T ruin Christmas!). For your finish... maybe you can give the frames a little oomph, if you glue cord around the backing fabric? So, you can see it a little from the front, but also can cover up what you don't like. ;) Because you have a ribbon instead of the hang-up from the frames it would work, I think :) And... have you thought about putting your family legacy piece into your routine? Maybe for one day a week, once a month or so? You would work on it little by little and can also overcome your fear, when you see the little dears matching up with the lady :) 'Cause I don't think she does bend to much over :) For the costs (I truly understand you... also am ordering from the States and other Countries and sometimes it's a pain in the butt, because of the customs). Have you tried out www.ateljem.de/ ? They are from Sweden, so maybe the shipping costs would be less intense. So, and now... last but not least... I do love the Beatles and I love octopus or octopi... so... here I am (and sure, I would go in 50/50 for the shipping) :) Wish you all the best and am looking forward to your upcoming Wip parade! :)

Thank you so much! Belated Merry Christmas to you, too! 😊 We were able to go visit, so that was nice. Thank you for the suggestions! And the website, it looks like the same we have in Norway! I have ordered some things from them, but still very pricey compared to what I'm used to. But I think I have some new solutions now 😀 To be entered into the drawing, comment on my comment using the word "octopus" since that's the word the comment picker will go by, so you don't miss out!

@@stitchingmoon Oh really? I thought the prices were very reasonable, but maybe it's because it's mostly much pricier here in Germany ^^'''' I'm excited to hear about your solution for the future :) And I edited my octopi, so it will work out ;) Grammar isn't everything X'DDDD Have a wonderful week and a great start into the new year!!! :)
