Hi Ailarra! I don't envy you stitching with the Devil's thread. I read and have found that it works, if you ever need to use it again, to tie a small knot at the end of the eye of your needle, just large enough so you don't have to tug too hard to pull the thread through. It makes it so there is little to no friction on the part of the floss that is in the eye. It is a pain sometimes trying to cut away the knot at the end of the needle but it is worth it in the end. I think you did well with meeting your goals for the first couple of weeks and the necessary life changes that have had to occur. I have been so danged exhausted lately that all I want to do is sleep. I have had 5 days when I didn't stitch at all already this month, doubt I will get any stitching done this coming Saturday because it is Walter's 3rd birthday party and then I will bring him home with me. He will probably fall asleep in the car on the way back since it is about an hour's drive, although only 30 miles, from my daughter's house. He may or may not stay asleep the rest of the night. Last weekend they had a 2+ hour drive after 5 p.m. and he fell asleep in the car, didn't wake up until 3:30 a.m. and then decided it was playtime so had to try and keep him quiet so the next to us and upstairs neighbors wouldn't complain so no sleep until my mom got up. I had texted my daughter and luckily they came to pick him up early so I slept from about an hour before they got here since my mom watched him until 10 that night. My sleep schedule is even wonkier than usual. Still trying to get the Christmas stuff taken down and put away but sure as heck was not doing it, as it needs to go in the outside storage area, in the single digit temperatures. We were up to the high 60s on Thursday but back down to the 40s for today...definitely winter in Texas. Supposed to have 4 days of rain starting Monday. Hope you are enjoying your stitching still and it doesn't feel like work. Take care of yourself. Happy stitching. Dawn in Texas

The sad thing about those wedding wreath items is that most of the people who receive them won’t appreciate them and especially if a couple is getting two of them-half will probably get thrown away. People forget that there are very few people who want memory items from someone else’s wedding. You are being kind, but it just makes me sad.
@Ailarra918
@Ailarra918 5 ай бұрын
Aww, don't be sad! It's the exact reason I am helping stitch them up for her. I don't mind what happens to them, since I won't be able to see it happen, but I couldn't stand the thought of her putting so much work in and that happening to the bride! I think a lot of us that volunteered felt the same way, too. I may complain about repeating the same pattern over and over, but it really does make me happy to know she's not going to have to see her own work unappreciated, if it happens 💙

To make threading the needle easier with the "devil" threads, you might want to try a tiny dab of nail polish on the end. Pinch the end flattish before it dries, should be much easier to work wth. (Won't help for weakening at the eye of the needle when you're stitching though.) Wishing you well...💕

Great catch up. Super impressed with the mega board you did! Mental health is the silent illness. Horrible. I had my gaul bladder out. Three hour surgery cos of complications. They told me i'd have to have six weeks off, i scoffed and said no way. Boy was i wrong, it wiped me out totally. I did manage to get back in five but that was a struggle. Take care and stay safe. One stitch at a time gets projects gone, tight🤗🇬🇧

I found the easiest way to stitch with light effects is to blend it with regular DMC. Stitching it on its own is difficult for sure especially on bigger areas. I learned that the hard way. I don't think I would want to do any project much bigger than your snowflake in only DMC light effects metallics

Hey Ailarra. Love your channel. Found you on the crazy plans for 2024 video 😅. I am just starting cross stitch and discovering Floßstube and also stumbled over your plans. Just out of curiosity, you probably talked about this in an earlier video, but is it all the kits/patterns you had at home already which you wanted to start this year, or why is it you start so many new things this year? I couldn't handle all those wips, but it seems to fill you up and I love that ❤. Me, monogamist through and through (in a crafting sense). Although not in the number of crafts I do, just the number of wips 😅 (I knit and spin and paint...and and and). Keep doing what you enjoy! Love your personality

Hi Ailarra. Have you been eating avocado? I have NASH (cirrhosis) from BC chemo. I constantly work on my diet. Avocado is a good fat but still a fat. It caused a gallbladder infection and on the third time in ER they asked me. I have polyps on my gallbladder too. I take protronix for my queasy stomach and fast 17/7. When my stomach is empty I feel better. Good luck next week. 🌺🌸🌺🇮🇪☘️🇺🇸🍎❤️🪡🧵😊Peggy

Oh let me tell you of the five Fs of gallbladder lol Fat Forty Female Fertile and Flatulent! Such joy! I had mine out a few years ago, and honestly as much for the reason of not having to change my eating habits as anything, however as fate would have it I still can’t eat the things that set me off or I have a horrible night of gut pain anyway! Anyway I felt much better almost instantly the gallbladder was gone so hope you get some relief! Also I am sitting here in shorts at 9.15 at night with it still being in the mid 20s in NZ right now…. Aaah summer, so much better than winter LOL - take care, Nic x

I had heard that during their divorce Nora’s husband was seeking full control over the Mirabilia branding and the company could not sell anything to their retailers or distributors so Nora started the Nora Corbett line to design under. I understand it to be that Nora was the only designer for Mirabilia. I do not know the out come of the divorce and I guess it’s really just their business anyway. I consider her a very talented woman in her own right and wish only the best for her. We all know life can get messy at times. Love and Peace!
