Oh dearies! So glad my hastily prepared package arrived in time for you to share! Rescued from my SIL’s mother’s house clean out. Swap, share, however you please. My thoughts were you could use in who knows what - project bags, pouches, totes, whatever. And I can’t believe you’re talking about grandmother’s flower garden today. My mother made me a grandmothers flower garden as a wedding gift some 40+ years ago and I inherited one of her friend’s 1930s grandmothers flower garden. Both ALL hand pieced and quilted. Every time I tried to count the hexies I’ve lost count. Such a noble undertaking you’ll share. So far I’m mostly a wanna be quilter. You ladies are FABULOUS and give this community so much inspiration and joy! Have a wonderful time in all your adventures.

Enjoyed this show so much today🥰. I've been quilting for over 40 Years, (boy that's hard to say). I've always wanted to make the Grandmothers Flower Garden and You've helped me to give it a go! So many quilts already in some stage of progress but now is the time. I do have more cross stitch whips so there's plenty to do but EPP is happening. I ordered the papers from Paper Pieces now to get the fabric and start cutting. I am not very good with instagram but am still trying hope you will be patient with me. It is going to take me some time to catch up with you girls. I do like your process of cutting out all pieces before starting. You are so organized. Is there a way you might could give any yardage requirements. I looked up your Liberty Fabric it is very pretty, great choice. I am going to try to finally cut into the Aunt Grace collection if I can make decisions! Hope you both have a great time in Cincy and the Stitch Con is a big success. You know it will be! Enjoy

Not sure where to add this but I heard you talking about grumpy Susan. I had to laugh. I’ve found in doing genealogy that it was not fashionable to smile in photos. Probably because the photo process took longer and it would be hard to hold a smile for so long. I have pictures of my grandmother from the early 1900s and it was the same thing - she looked so grumpy.

Dear Shellie, I just started my first EPP project and when I saw this video I thought you might be just the person to answer a question I've been struggling with. I inherited a wonderful supply of beautiful fabric from my grandmother and am so excited to hand sew with it to make a grandmother's garden EPP quilt. I think the project will be very sentimental and therapeutic for me. I feel like unbleached muslin is what I want to use for each flower center, the walking path and the backing. Do you know if using muslin would be a bad idea for any reason before I put too much time and love into this project? Love your heart and videos. Thank you for your generous spirit.

Ok you got me, I've got one hexie queen quilt in waiting to be hand quilted, and I started another a year ago (kind of modern). So of course I'll jump on the band wagon with your sal. I don't use glue. My grandmother's hexie quilt took me two years to assemble. I'd love to send you pictures. Old pictures often looked like grumpy people, but most of the time it was that their teeth were so bad, so they wouldn't smile.
