I really enjoyed the workshop in Northern Kentucky with the Queen City Sampler Guild and really learned a lot about how to make my stitches look neater on front and back. You are an amazing teacher and very generous with your time too. I loved Margaret Hutton and the sampler that you gifted us also. Looking forward to the Stitch Along in the next few weeks. Oh my stars!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this free workshop! I am so looking forward to the tutorials, and will try to get fabric and floss this week. Happy Mother’s Day, Nicola! I made each of my two daughters a wedding ring pillow and a box for their Arras ( a Spanish tradition that Filipinos still practice of exchanging a set of 13 coins between the couple to symbolize their pledge t care for their family). Thank you creating a free MrsParkaman’s workshop for us to learn by and enjoy. You are so generous. Take care!

I made that hardanger pillow for my niece’s wedding with the intention of becoming a heirloom piece and to be used in our family for all weddings to come. I also made a little bag to hold the coins, that bag had been made for each wedding with their names and dates, but the pillow does not have names so it can be used for all.

I learned to cross stitch at age twelve. At age seventy-two, still learning. Thank you Nicola. I can now do reversible cross stitch if I should ever desire to do so.

I’m so excited to start the workshop because I love to learn new skills. I have been looking at the beautiful Elizabeth Charlotte Cotton because I love band samplers and this one has an online workshop that I would love to complete. However, I worry that I just don’t have the skill required. This new workshop will hopefully give me the skills and confidence to develop my needlework. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it’s simple tips like the scissors are invaluable to beginners such as myself. I think it’s the very basics that are often overlooked.

Nicola, so very kind of you to offer us this sampler and tutorials. Thank you so much. I hope one day you release Doris Wood as a true reproduction. It's amazing, and I'd love to stitch it as is. Do you have any history or date on it? It has a Deco kind of feel, especially the flowers.

Hello Marlene - there is no date on Doris’ sampler but I agree with you. It does have an Art Deco feel to it. I hope to release the sampler one day as a workshop but I really do not know when that will be. There are so many skills demonstrated in the sampler. N x

Hello I am sorry that you have experienced a problem. I suspect that your email provider has blocked the incoming email. Do you have an email address with another provider such as gmail that you could try? N x

I would love to see your process on starting a project. Do you always start on scroll rods? Would you start a smaller project on a hoop? Thank you

Hello Rhonda - My first choice is my Millennium frame but I use a small hoop for travelling. If I have a project that requires changing the orientation of the fabric as I work I will use a large hoop and either the Poltoky floor stand or lap stand.
