Wishing you both all the best. As a newish stitcher and cancer survivor in my 70s, I appreciated your wisdom, experience, and the respect you have for each other. So often you just made me feel like I was among friends. Julie, I love your sense of humor, there is power in the ability to laugh at life. Jane, your courage and optimism give me hope. Your words give me strength. I hope you don’t mind that I have made them my favorite quote. “Always remember to give yourself one more day. Just one more. If what you are carrying today seems too heavy for you, put it down for today. Tomorrow it either may not seem as heavy or it may not be yours to carry. So whatever it is that’s heavy on your heart today put it down, just put it down for today and then give yourself another day and then another one after that and another one after that. If I can do it you can do it too.”

Thanks for the smiles. Jane - I, too, have a laundry & mail obsessed husband. He started doing laundry 3 years ago when I had several surgeries. Now we only really need 2 sets of clothing, since he washes as soon as clothes hit the basket! And the all important trek to the mailbox to gather the bills I’ll never understand. The dishes could spill out of the sink, apparently he’s allergic to the dishwasher. When I finally load the dishwasher one-handed (another recent surgery) he’ll say, “Do you need help with that?” 45 years married.

An FYI, when you use your bundt pan again, butter the inside super good and then sift flour all over the butter. Your cakes will come out glorious and all will be jealous of your wicked mad cake making skills. I also just wanted to say how classy you both are. Let’s just say that the past few weeks have been, well, not so charming following a nasty fall on uneven sidewalks.
