I have the original edition of The Proper Stitch that I purchased in the 90s and completed about half of the sampler on the cover. I stopped stitching for 20 years and came back in 2019. I plan to finish that sampler, was looking at it a few days ago, and I had no idea The Proper Stitch was hard to get now. I see the new one says "revised and expanded", but I'm happy with mine, it is a hard cover with a spiral binding that allows you to lay it flat. I have needed that refresher on specialty stitches, I forgot so many of them!

I loved seeing your Love Never Fails in the background. I was actually working on that design while watching you. Mine will be only the center section (reworked a lot on the design) because I accidentally started it turned on the fabric. It still will be beautiful, though and am looking forward to having it completed and on my wall.

You had some great finishes! And great stash acquisition ;) Love Red - she is looking fabulous! On Crystal Symphony I agree with you - the two symbols are for the same floss - that's how I would read it as well. The asterisk with the 2 would mean you need two skeins for that color. Enjoy your videos and always look for them :)

Your videos are great; no editing needed. I watch each one the day you upload it. I’m always so inspired by all your projects and plans. I take notes on your fabric choices because I struggle with that. I was just kitting up Every Opening Flower and now I want to get the silks like you are using.
@stitchingfae7 ай бұрын
Aww thank you so much! Every Opening Flower is one of most beautiful designs that I have seen. Both silks and hand dyed flossed look amazing, but I have heard some people said for the silks the greens some people didn’t see too much difference. Keep in mind when you are ordering maybe you can drop a note to dyer and ask to pay attention when she is packing with the green flosses 😊

@@stitchingfae Thanks for that tip. I’ve only done one other project with silks, a Hands Across the Seas, and the 2 reds were very close. I was disappointed and regretted not using DMC.

Hi Heidi! Great video. Lots of beautiful eye candy! Your finishes are beautiful. On the symbols the viewer had questions on, I read it as if the symbol goes in either direction it's 931 and the same for 932. Maybe it had too do with the placement of where the symbol is in the pattern. Maybe Nora did it for easy reading of where she placed the symbol. Just my opinion - I really don't know for a fact. Happy stitching! Lori 💕

You are adorable 😊 thanks for sharing. I have many of the same WIPS as you but my fabric is different. I live in Los Angeles too I am in the Valley, there are no stores anywhere in Southern California where I can buy Linen for stitching and when I purchase from internet it never looks like it does on the computer. I also hate when the suggested fabric doesn’t look like the photo of the finished piece. Just wondering if you have trouble finding fabric? Have a Great Summer
@stitchingfae7 ай бұрын
Yes, there is nothing close to LNS Valley or Ventura County. Michels and Joann’s used to have few items before, not now though. I shop online and many times I acquire a linen and it’s nothing like the picture. Over time I accumulated enough that I kinda know from the name and dyer what to expect. 😂
@janepanovich98187 ай бұрын
Just a thought about Crystal Symphony having the same color floss for two symbols….is there a place on the Nora Corbett website for checking any “Oops “ in the patterns? I know many designers have such a page. I do not have this pattern so I wouldn’t know what to look for. It’s worth a try.

I really love your practice if keeping an index card in each project bag but I wondered how, when the project is finished, you end up filing that card… is it filed by finished year, or category? All your stitching is really beautiful.
@stitchingfae7 ай бұрын
After the project is finished I file them by the year. I find it easier for me to reference them this way 😊
@leetlesnyder7 ай бұрын
Hi Heidi, your finishes are spectacular! I had the same question about the Mirabilia charts…it’s not an error because I have a different chart with the same thing…2 different symbols for the same thread…why would she do that? It’s very confusing, so if you find out the reason behind that, please let me know! And I look forward to seeing your finished Garden Glade! 😉
@stitchingfae7 ай бұрын
Couple of people told me to check the Wichelt website for Mirabilia corrections to see if it’s a “ops” or that’s how we need to read. And for the two next to floss number means I need to buy two skeins of the same color. For Garden Glade I shows the pattern but somehow I skipped showing the actual finish product, if you blinked you missed her 😂 I have no idea what I was thinking. I will show her close up my next video for sure 🤞😁
