Beautiful projects and finishes. Kathy Barrick is amazing, I got the Crown of Blues Pattern. You are going to love Fifteen Friends, I started her and it has been such a comfort to me. I almost did it on 56 count but ended up with 46 count. I don’t know how to describe it but it is very soothing and calming. Your quilt is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your challenges, I lost my Dad and our 16 1/2 year old beagle within months of each other in 2020. They were my best friends and it was tough. But you are right, you have to take care of you and I am so glad you have such caring friends to support you. I am sorry about your Grandmother and Dusty. Your sewing will come back to you. I lost my knitting after my Dad passed and then it just appeared again when I was ready. Take care.

Wonderful to see you again, Olivia B. Thank you for the life update. These are challenging times for many of us. I admire your courage and generosity of sharing as I can relate on the losses and work situations all too well. It is overwhelming, and I have to keep reminding myself that I am not alone. My cross-stitch, diamond painting, prayers and allowing myself to cancel out of trips, social gatherings and some activities are all part of my self care. It is okay not to be cheerful when our pain (emotional and physical) are "real." That you're standing, smiling, stitching, and filming a flosstube after everything shows incredible strength. Stitching has always brought me solace during difficult times so I hope that continuing to pull a needle through fabric is helping you too. Stitching can be all things, sometimes it's excitement, sometimes it's comfort, and sometimes it's managing to keep going. On a lighter note, your Spot is just fabulous. He has so much character. I know you said you were going to frame him, but perhaps a pillow finish (flattened, not too puffy) so you can just put him anywhere and everywhere? Spot on the shelf, Spot on the mantel, Spot wherever he looks right that day...

There's definitely a lot of freezing, panicking, resisting, etc., before I get to the point where I can take a deep breath and recognize, "Okay, this is another FGO." (Fucking Growth Opportunity) 😁 I hope you're able to hide from the Mad Max sun you've got in your neck of the woods! 😭 Can we just fast forward to fall?!

First I just want to say how sorry I am for all your recent losses! No wonder your anxiety is high. Sending hugs and prayers sweet girl. Second, I just love love love your taste in designs. I’m drawn to primitives but not necessarily samplers and I wanted to stitch almost everything you showed. As a matter of fact I went straight to your shop after I watched today. I’m so glad you can still stitch, I lost my husband about 3 years ago and I lost all desire to do anything for quite awhile. But about a year ago I found flosstube and haven’t looked back. Oh my goodness I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve been struggling with anxiety all my life. Unfortunately it’s genetic so no escaping it. I feel the same, it’s so hard to make plans and then have it all crumble due to uncontrollable anxiety. My father is at the end of his short battle with pancreatic cancer. It’s been a gut punch and has brought on health issues. Keep going as everything passes and the good times always outweigh the bad.

I had to put my Maybelline down 2 weeks ago - She was my heart and my buddy….I got her when she was 5 weeks old and she would have been 18 years old in September….All we can do is love them while they are with us….I’m so sorry to hear about your Dusty….I too am a pit-bull lover….You’ve had a lot hit you in a very small amount of time, praying the rest of 2023 will be brighter for you….I’m an introvert and have a very hard time with ‘small talk’ and large intimate crowds….I just lean very heavily on God to help me through each day….my stitching is my therapy and my joy….❤❤❤

Maria, your words mean so much to me, thank you for sharing. In my younger years, my mom had a very difficult time understanding what I was going through. She couldn't understand what I was so scared of, why I made the decisions that I did, how there could be anything wrong with me if the doctor said I was healthy, etc. It's a difficult thing to communicate to another person, especially someone who doesn't have anxiety themselves. Over the years, my mom has come to understand more and it's a huge help to me when I'm having a hard time. I can't speak for your daughter, but for myself, the most helpful thing when I'm going through a difficult time with my anxiety, is someone I love reminding me that they love me no matter what, listening to me with an open heart and mind, and letting me know that they'll always be there for me. The positive aspect is that we can support each other when having a difficult time and know that those around us truly understand how overwhelming it can be in the middle of a dark period. Oh Olivia you have been through so much and are so strong to share it with us. Depression and anxiety can really do a number on you, as I know only too well. My parents were from your grandma's generation, they lived to 90 and 93 and I still wasn't ready. Glad you've been able to stitch through it all.

I'm happy you're pulling yourself back up out of the morass high enough to record a video. We love seeing what you're working on and what you've acquired. It's awful when several very stressful/sad thing happen seemingly all at once! I'm in my 70s, old enough to have been through that kind of situation a couple of times, and it's hard - even more so for someone who deals with anxiety and depression. The closing of your Flosstube brought me to tears….I too suffer with sever anxiety and the health issues that we inflict upon ourselves❤️ I recently went to a retreat that was amazing but the entire time I couldn’t wait to return home to my dogs! I have three including and aging Pitt, and at 55 years old I’ve said good bye to many of my best furry friends…..and I feel your heartbreak, and I am So sorry🐾🐾💔

Anxiety is one of those things where I'm comforted by knowing I'm not the only one going through it, but at the same time, I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Especially such a lovely person! Gosh, the best part of coming home was always coming back to Dusty. I was the same way at every retreat or trip I took. Trying my best to enjoy myself, but also really wanting to go back home to my dog. I'm so grateful for all of those years of comfort and joy that he brought me. Please give that sweet pitty a big hug and a kiss from me! It always gives me hope when I hear of dog lovers who have lost their dogs but have healed enough to open their heart again to another one. Thank you. ❤

It's sad to hear you have to face such struggles when every day is a battle. If you haven't already done so, I urge you to seek professional support such as cognitive therapy, as such pain is impossible to overcome on your own and you are much too young to let it rule your life.

Thank you, Barbara. Yes, I'm back in therapy now. Cognitive therapy has been very helpful for me in the past. These days I'm also incorporating ACT and mindfulness. I'm doing the work and hoping to come out of this time even stronger than before.
