This is a year late, but I wanted to tell you how much I LOVE Paula Vaughan's design. Her work is so beautiful and could never go out of style with me! I have most if not all of her charts, and I consider them a treasured collection. I have been fortunate enough to meet her daughter-in-law who lives close to me, and I have hopes of someday meeting Paula herself. She is a celebrity to me! Also I have a daughter named Scarlett, so guess which other kits of yours I love! I have a few charts and a couple of kits of Gone With the Wind. I love them all! Lastly, that same daughter and I are Disney fanatics, so those Disney kits are amazing!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!!

Hello from Savannah, GA! Really liked your kit parade, could say alot about them, but I will just throw in my 2 cents to reply to your musings about the big dresses and how they went to the bathroom- they wore pantalets that had a split crotch but the fabric overlapped in such a way that it wasn't just open, it was more like a flap. They also used chair commodes or chamber pots that didn't have to be crammed up against the wall, which made all that fabric easier to manage. It would be like having the toilet out in the center of the room. I do imagine women back then, like today, probably went to the commode together, so your besties or your servants help up your skirts for you, such loyalty! I also have dreamed how elegant dressing like that would make you feel, and even though they didn't have indoor plumbing or Netflix, they did have glorious dancing, horseback and carriage riding, reading books, the art of conversation, AND of course cross stitch and other fancy sewing. I think I could occupy myself just fine. What does make me more appreciative of the modern world though is not toilets or tv, it's medicines to keep us all from dying of cholera, thyphoid, diphtheria and dysentery, lol! On that note I'll just wish you happy stitching!

I just found your channel. I too used to get my cross stitch kits at Mary Maxim. I still will drive to Paris to check out the few they have. Paula Vaughan has beautiful patterns, and your right no one seems to stitch her. Cheers 🇨🇦

I’m so jealous of the GWTW patterns. It’s my favorite movie of all time but I wasn’t much of stitcher when they came out! Really enjoy your videos! That Cinderella pattern is gorgeous and I’ll be looking forward to seeing how much you get done in May. I never do French knots, I always replace them with beads but with that many of them, you’ll probably get really really good at them.

Love your parades! I also have a deep fear of snakes to the point of ridiculous. If I see one I can run for three blocks before I stop. I am petrified of them and your story about them sunning on your bush freaked me out😱😱 I am a Paula Vaughn fan. I had many of her original charts back in the 80s and 90s, but sadly I grew restless in the late 90s with all the backstitching and quarter stitches, as the newer type patterns started being published with less intensive stitching. I completed one (Summers Remembered) or two of the many charts of hers I had and hung on to a half finished project for years. But about 20 years ago I gave away that project plus all my other P.V. charts, thinking I would never do them. I regret that decision and repurchased the Sunny porch chart you showed today. I don’t know if I will ever stitch it but I love looking at it. The one chart I held onto the longest and regret the most of giving away is Summer Breeze. I still think it’s a gorgeous chart.

Ahhhhhh! That's too bad about your chart collection. You could definitely rebuild it by visiting freebie tables at retreats. There are normally a ton of PV charts. Summer breeze is my favorite PV chart and the first one I bought. If I were to stitch and of her charts, it would be that one!🤗

Just found you & happy to see your variety of projects Loved the kit parade & I have a lot of them too usually work on them after finishing a large full coverage projectt. Paula Vaughan leaflets I won't let go of and was sorry to hear of passing. So jelly you have a Scarlett' Ohara's BBQ dress to stitch. Congrats to the winners! Nice progress on your WIPs. The Summer Breeze fabric is very pretty. I really like it. TFS your kits. There were several that caught my eye. You asked about folks stitching Paula Vaughan, Taryn Verleye is doing one and she's mentioned several times that she used to want a whole Paula Vaughan wall. Not sure she has a PV WIP but Michelle on Romantic Tangle recently scored a TON of PV charts - I think at the library used book store. Might have been at a thrift store, though. There are a variety of stitch-with-me types. Some chat - whether doing tags, small talk, talking in-depth about a specific topic, answering previous questions from viewers, etc; some play music (if you do this one make sure there's not a copyright issue); some do lives and interact with viewers; my favorite is ASMR where it's mainly the relaxing stitching sound (occasional background sound is totally understandable).
