Rye should have a yoga class - how to relax in the most amazing positions😂😂. When I lived in Nevada I had what I called “elephant elbows”. Boy, were they dry. I used Bag Balm. Had to be careful when stitching, but it soaked in nicely and saved elbows. Wish I could replace my “soon to take up residence” wasps with bees. I’d welcome them. Baby showers were a chance to use my imagination to give a unique present. A lot of cross stitch pieces; I hope they were appreciated. No kids of my own, so I tried to give something that would be remembered. Safe travels, happy stitching🪡.

Oh yes, growing up in Montana I had those elbows as well - we always called them "chicken skin". I actually use a heavy duty moisturizer for my skin in general, which has taken care of those, but it's great to know that bag balm would also do the trick! And I love that you give cross stitch as a memory piece. I think that would be a very special gift and much appreciated. ❤️

Thank you for the video. Showers are impossible for me unless it was with Katie Belmain. Hers were a celebration of life with no odd games or a parent saying she didn't like the food or the games. You must be an angel to try to put one of these on. My daughter loved them and spent over budget to go to one until 2 friends sharing the same house were each expecting and my daughter couldn't finish 2 quilts and baskets full of goodies all at once. She went to buy the quilts and found out the quilts she gave would cost her 2 hundred dollars a piece. That ended her baby shower Going to realize she was spending well over 300.00 dollars on her fun and couldn't afford it. I am proud of you for going. I would give a gift certificate, and then they could pick their own gift. Funnels are just as hard when my daughter died. There was only one sprayer of flowers on the casket, and my mom was mad. We lived in a poor area and all the ward gave us were envelopes and each envelop contained money. They paid for the headstone for her grave, so every Memorial Day, I am reminded of their love for me. Blue is a beautiful color it reminds me of some of the flowers my mom and I loved to see. We would travel miles to see flowers when she lived by us.

I love blue! But I didn't know about blue mason bees - we must not have them in Michigan?? Very cool. I also dislike showers or any kind of party with a lot of people I don't know. It's an introvert thing... Have you read Quiet by Susan Cain? It's a fun non-fiction celebration of introverts 🙂.

I don't know if they are in Michigan, but they might just be out for a brief time. Apparently they just come out to gather enough pollen to fuel the next generation and then they retreat until spring. And thank you for the book recommendation! We can always use more celebration of introverts. ❤️

Very interesting about the Bees. I don't care for baby showers either anymore. Most times in these days, the men come too, I don't care for that. I also am uncomfortable around strangers. My favorite color is blue. I wonder what the puppies were so interested in, in that bush?😃 Marilyn

We get tiny mice in our yard (so close to the open areas and since we feed the birds that attracts them as well) and they hide in those poky bushes. The dogs are REALLY focused on getting them to come out and play. 🤣❤️

I am not fond of baby showers either. Give me a puppy party any day! What was so interesting to your dogs in that bush?
@theblueflower21158 ай бұрын
There was a tiny mouse in there and they were so hoping that it would come out to play! 🤣❤️

We don't have a babay shower tradition so I don't have to choose to go or not. *Blue* .

I don't mind baby showers. I'm kind of competitive, so I see the games as a challenge. I usually sit next to someone who looks friendly and start a conversation. Most people like to talk about themselves, so I just ask a few non-intrusive questions and off we go. It can be awkward, but if I care about the honoree, I just smile my way through. I also love seeing all of the darling baby things (my grammy-wannabe side comes out). I hope you have a lovely time.

That's pretty much my approach (minus the competitive streak) as well. And everyone was lovely so it was quite comfortable. Plus, the games were volunteer only so that was a huge help. ❤️

Don’t be blue! I empathize with your views on baby showers…not my favorite thing either…I really loathe the games and once I said I would rather just watch than participate…..wishing I was home stitching….! Thanks for your lovely designs and nature explorations…you are appreciated Jeanine.

It was the best one I've been to - the games were very relaxed and for volunteers only! Yay! And thank you so much for the very kind words - they mean the world to me. ❤️

I ,also, don't like showers, I find them uncomfortable and awkward. I'm afraid to converse with people I don't know. Though, I think that as I get older, it gets more difficult for me. We, as people, had to remain isolated because of covid, so my social skills have suffered. I do send gifts, though! I've been introverted all my life, and I'm okay with that.🙋

It is tricky for us, to be sure. And Covid sucked some of my social skills as well - I think without Flosstube I could have gone weeks without talking to anyone other than my immediate family! ❤️

I feel the same way you do about baby showers but guess what, I have to throw one as my daughter is expecting our first grandchild! Nevertheless, I'm thrilled about that news but not crazy about figuring out how to throw the shower. I don't think I'm going to have any games but I'll check with her first to see if she's okay with that.
@theblueflower21157 ай бұрын
Congratulations on the first grandchild! And the one I attended actually had fairly normal (and volunteer only!) games - baby terms bingo, who can toss the most rolled up diapers into the basket, etc. Nothing to terrifying. 🤣❤️

Pretty blue bee. Baby showers…. Oh my gosh, I have a story for you. So at a baby shower I attended, we played a few games. But the best game was a teeny tiny toy baby frozen inside of an ice cube. Rule…the first person to thaw their baby free from the cube won a prize. WELL, I looked at my ice cube and popped it in my mouth for an emergency C-section!!!!! I crunched that baby out of the ice cube in about 60 seconds flat. Yelling I won, I won as I held my baby between my fingers for everyone to see. They all looked at me…. I said, What? 🤷🏼♀️ What? 🤷🏼♀️ My mother needed an emergency C-section to save both their lives. Haha they all laughed. I don’t think the host planed for that game to go so fast. 😂😂
@sharontesi42738 ай бұрын
That is tooooo funny! Sounds like something I'd do because those games bring out the competitive side in me🤣

I like baby showers, but I am a little shy to talk to people. Summer is coming so there’s nothing to be blue about!
@sarahwebb14508 ай бұрын
Baby showers are awkward for me. I don't care for the obligatory games. And usually, it's just too many people. Thanks for sharing about the bees.
@theblueflower21158 ай бұрын
I completely agree. Fortunately the one I went to had very relaxed (and volunteer only!) games, and some smaller spaces to talk with fewer people. ❤️

Showers, funerals, weddings eeeeeeeeek nope. There are these rules with feelings and things you are supposed to say and I always seem to get them wrong - or think I am getting them wrong. I’m with you. Animals don’t have these. Stick with animals.
@theblueflower21157 ай бұрын
I totally agree - it's so difficult when it always feels like everyone else knows the right words and you're trying to keep up. ❤️
