I love your plans and seeing your pieces...so tempting to add a few of your projects to my list too. I'm jumping in with my first BRRINGO board this January. Usually, I'm a focused stitcher. I have actual magazine pieces (!) going on the board as they are my Christmas focus pieces for 2024 - stuff mostly for me instead of gifting as I did with many of my items in 2023.

I enjoyed so much this video, it gave me two ideas about Jardin Prive the cats sampler and a Leslie Tear angel. I was also surprised to see that Caroline Maning design, it is so unusual for her, I really like it. I am looking forward to see your progress next year, especially on Heirloom Nativity and Dragon Ride, both of them look like works of art, must be because of their numerous details. Carolyn Manning has several softer designs, like this Meadow one, including a floral sampler that I think she used to pull some motifs from to create this one. The Purple Pansy one I finished earlier this year that was entirely backstitching was also one of hers. I think because her geometric full-coverage designs are so popular right now, those are what most people associate with her, but she does have a little more variety than that. :)

Right now, I'm trying to get more crochet and sewing time built in along with my plans for cross stitching. Yeah, the Antique Shoe Collection still has quite a bit of work left on it, so it needs a lot of dedicated time. I don't really have a good spot for it at this point without neglecting lots of other things I'd rather be doing. I've had it with me for a good 25 years, so what's one more? :D

I only need one "S" Fairy, but I also need an "E" Fairy, which I finished a few months ago. So, when this "S" is done, I'll be done with fairies for a couple years, till my next niece gets closer to graduation. She's only a Freshman right now.

I get so much inspiration this time of year from planning videos and WIP parades! I've been enjoying my planning, but I suddenly think I may have bitten off more than I can chew in January - I'm doing BRRINGO as well as having 3 WIPGO boards.. I'll either be moved to stitch like a wild woman or go down in flames in the first month of the year; either way it should be fun! Happy New Year to you and your family! 🪡👠

One trick I have with BRRINGO is to try to populate the prompts as much as possible with projects I'm already planning to work on during January. So, in your case, I would start with the 6 WIPGO prompts and try to get them on the board as many times as needed to complete whatever goals you've set for them. And for prompts like "smallest", "oldest", etc., I choose from among my January projects, not from among my entire WIP list, so that I can make sure to focus in on the things I want to work on. There was only one prompt this year that needed to stray from my January projects because my single monochromatic piece wasn't called for January.

My stash and organization are pretty lacking at the moment - I'm not sure how many things I have that could potentially be started on a whim, but there are probably quite a few! I have a storage and organization video that I made several years ago (you can find it on the "Demos & Tutorials" playlist), and things are mostly the same now - just messier! :P

I can consider adding that to my next plans video - just a recap of what I managed to stick with throughout the year at the beginning of the video. This past year (2023), I managed to complete most of my plans - I decided not to start a few things that I originally thought I would, and I did not finish one of the ten things I had earmarked for finishing. Not too bad, over all!

Your plans sound wonderful. There is no way I could personally chart out my stitching in such a detailed way, but I will say that you did give me the push I needed back in October when you were talking about your goal dates for finishing your family pieces. I have now gone through all the large wips I have that I want to get finished within a goal amount of time and figured out how many stitches a month they each need in order to be able to finish them. I made sure to pick dates that make it a reasonable amount of stitches each month, with a buffer (compared to the average I can stitch each month) to allow me to work on my other projects, and including a smaller focus that I will only have one of but have a much shorter goal date for. I now have my main stitching figured out for at least the next ten-twenty years! So far I have been able to hit all of my goals each month and still be able to have the variety I need for life events and such. I hope you are having a wonderful holidays and happy stitching!

It's the large ones that I'm starting by myself that have more risk of not getting started when it comes down to it - like the two full coverage no background pieces I skipped starting this past year. :)

BRRINGO and ABCINGO are single-month events in the Magazine Monthly Challenge group on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/1060205727727053. BRRINGO is in January and uses various prompts to help you choose which projects go with which number and they call one number each day for the first 25 days in the month. ABCINGO is similar, but in September and they have 25 of the 26 letters in the alphabet populating the board that you try to tie your projects to somehow.

What do you mean by randomize WIPGO?

A traditional WIPGO board is set up with the numbers reading left to right, top to bottom. That's how Jesse has the board numbers set up when she pulls the numbers on the video each month. I have always populated my board with the numbers in a standard order as well, just randomly choosing which project will go with which number. But this year, I thought it would be fun to have the numbers shuffled up and placed on the board randomly as well. Since I'm doing two boards, I thought that would be more fun to see different BINGOs get completed throughout the year.
