This is my first time watching your channel. I enjoyed your parade. You sure have some beautiful treasures. I’ve seen the sunflower kit on other channels, but was never fond of it until I saw it in your channel. I hurried up and got on Amazon and ordered it, thanks for the inspiration. Your work is very nice.

Seeing your work lets me appreciate the beauty. What a gorgeous collection. The Thanksgiving maize is my favorite. I know it was a struggle for you, but, wow. I need that! My second favorite is the framed Easter picture you started with. Adorable.

You have the most beautiful collection of mill hills. Many of which I’ve never seen before so I went on Amazon and came across a few that I’ve never seen before nor in your parade today lol so that was a bonus. But I did buy the sunflowers that you showed because they look so beautiful on your channel because you showed them up close, I never noticed how they were sitting in a glass jar of water and that sold me.

I mainly stitch primitive things and samplers but I have recently enjoyed doing some Mill Hill ornaments. I love sparkly things too. That trio of ghosts that you showed caught my eye, I'll be looking for them. Great video. I've been able to buy some very early ones on the Facebook destash sites.

I don’t know if you’ve checked with The Silver Needle in Tulsa, but they have the largest collection of MH kits I’ve seen anywhere and they also have a large selection of buttons if you’re still looking for some. Just thought I’d mention it in case you haven’t checked with her for the ones you can’t find. I go there for retreats once or twice a year and was blown away by how many they have in stock. Good luck! Love your videos. ~Roxanne

You have many gorgeous kits there!!! I find one problem with the Mill Hill metallic beads here in Michigan, perhaps? I think it's the heavy humidity that over the years turns metallic beads, specifically, tarnished, or the outside covering of them to disappear and it leaves an ugly looking bead. Again, I'm guessing it's the humidity. This is a non-smoking house, not even visitors are allowed to do so, so it's not that, which brings me to another issue I've found. I made the gorgeous Santa pattern, his beard is divine! It's stitched in white - it's over 10 years old and I used a Mill Hill frame for it. The frames do not have a glass covering - his beard yellowed! I am aghast! I will be restitching him, for sure! I love him!!! It was never in direct sunlight, quite the opposite, but the thread yellowed terribly. I tried to wash it out even used Spray N Wash - fail! All it did was make the paper it's stitched on disintegrate. Bummer!!! The moral is - do not ever wash those! I wonder if anyone else has this problem with the metallic beads that come in the kit? They are Mill Hill brand.....if so, please let me know! Thanks!

Yes, you are right. The older once are ceramic buttons, but the newer once are with JABT clay buttons 😊

I love Mill Hill kits too! Really nice video, Heidi. Only thing, is the constant movement of the patterns was making me dizzy, had to keep taking breaks. Have you thought of using a stand to prop a kit up facing front, to keep it steady when you show it, then flipping over to show the back? Maybe having a small stand would be easier on your hands, because I understand why your hands were getting tired. Love your videos, and always love your projects! You have some beautiful kits that I’ve never seen. I also really liked how you went over the other kits in a series. Thank you for taking the time to share them with us. You enable me more than you know!

Your Mill Hill stitching is beautiful! I recently finished my first one. I bought the frame, but returned it. I could not get the Glazier points to work to keep the stitching in the frame. Yours look lovely! I would love to know how you get them to work with the frame. Thank you for a great video.😊

Sorry to hear it did not work out for you. I know Mill hill frames don’t have turn button fasteners. I usually use thumbtacks to secure the backs and seems like they are working for me 😊

I have a question, if I want to stitch on linen/aida what count can I use?
@stitchingfae2 ай бұрын
Hi Caroline! I would say use 28ct linen or Evenwave or 14ct Aida. The reason is most of the beads are size 12 and many of the buttons are pretty large and you don’t want to crowd them 😊
