Hi Kim. Great finish/WIP parade. I also stitched the Dimensions gingerbread house ornament last year. Regarding your Wonderful Thx giving WIP. I usually stitch with 2 threads on 18 count if I want bold stitches. You could try crossing over 1 more leg on each of your already completed stitches then use 2 threads for rest of design. Its has a nice muted color way as is. Have a great stitchy 2025!

Nice to find your channel. I love wip parade season. I have 4 kids too, oldest is 28 and youngest 21. It is a different stage of life now for sure. I miss when they were so young. I stitch with 2 strands on 18 count. Sometimes it is pretty tight, but I prefer the full look.

I thoroughly enjoyed your parade! Love the variety of projects you have going. I love stitching Paula Vaughan. I say keep going with your project. I spent my time watching your parade by stitching my WIP called Signs Of Fall from the October 1994 issue of Leisure Arts Magazine. Don't feel like you have to apologize for wrinkled fabric or projects in a hoop. That just shows they have been loved and stitched on. Happy Stitching! 😊

As a needleworker, I was always taught to iron your projects as little as possible. It smashes your stitches. Just what I was taught…to each his own. Loved your wip parade!

And if you prefer the 2 threads, try adding a single half stitch over one you've done to see if you can get away without frogging.
@canaltownstitcher9663Сағат бұрын
I’ve thought about doing that 😊 it has been suggested several times. Great minds think alike!

Hi Kim - I just found your channel through the WIP parade feed. I really like WIP parades. I enjoy seeing what everyone is stitching and it is a great way to find new channels. Fun to see your finishes as well. I have stitched all three of the Sue Hillis Time of the Year patterns (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) I really enjoy putting them out each year. I think I stitched them on 32 count but definitely with 2 stands of floss. I have been cross stitching for over 50 years. You are not really supposed to iron your cross stitching until finished. I saw someone else commenting on the same thing. You should not leave the fabric in hoops or Q-snaps but not iron. So do not apologize for not ironing! I look forward to watching more from you. Take Care

Beautiful work! It’s been a long long time since I have seen a Paula Vaughan design! Her designs are amazing. ( I’ve been stitching since 1982 ☺️). Despite the yellowing, I say try the Oxiclean first. You started this at an important time of your life and it deserves to be finished. And if the fabric doesn’t whiten up,you can decide whether you want to start it over.

Thank you! Your comment means so much to me! I have always felt very drawn to it, which is why I think I have always kept it. I am going to try to wash it, hopefully I can get it a little cleaner. ❤️

I love your wip parade. Don't worry about not ironing I don't even own a iron. On your paula piece I would try to wash it and if it didn't come out I would start it over.

You popped up on my feed today, and I'm very glad you did. I am a retired elementary teacher - 21 yrs in 5th and 4 in 6th. I loved every minute of it - well most of the minutes. LOL. I have several of the designers that you are working on, and even tho my favorites are Miras, Noras, and Bellas; I still really love my primitives and samplers. Your question on whether to stitch 1x2 or 2x2 on 36 ct is a good one. If I'm stitching a fancy lady (which I would SELDOM due on 36 due to beading), I would use 2x2 for the heavier coverage. If it's a primitive or sampler, I would go with 1x2. I really enjoyed your presentation style and your selection of pieces. I'm not a flosstuber, but I do post on IG on a regular basis if you want to take a peak. I'll be going back in time to see how you got started and other pieces you've finished and purchased. Thx for sharing your work. Steph (in NJ)

Thank you! Being a teacher was a lifelong dream for me. I come from a long line of educators, so it’s in my blood ❤️ Although I have never stitched a Mira, I want to stitch Snow Queen so bad! It reminds me of Narnia, and it is so beautiful! I have to admit, the beading does intimidate me. I have a mill hill kit that I haven’t started yet because I need to learn how to bead, lol. Thank you for your thoughts and kind words! Is your instagram handle the same as your KZbin name? I would love to follow you and see your progress as well. 😊

Also, I think the colors on your Thanksgiving piece would pop more with 2 strands rather than one. You could just go over each top leg with another strand…

I just finished a wip from 40 years ago. I suggest that you wash your Paula Vaughn and finish it. You have completed half of it, and it is beautiful. I have 3 more wips from the ‘80’s and I fully intend to finish them. Don’t give up because it’s old, you still love it.
@canaltownstitcher966315 күн бұрын
Thank you! I will be washing it, I am hopeful that I can get most of the yellow out or faded, then I can decide what will happen next. You’re right, I do love it 😊

Stitch a letter 2 over 1 in the margin and see if you like it more, or boost your colours!

Hello from Yuma, Az! Found you by accident and subscribed right away… When I use a color that does not show up against the fabric, I use plain old sewing thread in a color I like and do an outline stitch…. Also, on the Wonderful, 18ct, 1 thread project…I usually use 2 threads on 18 because I like the coverage….your saturation issue could be the 1 thread issue or it could be that the cover picture has been enhanced & is not true to your floss instructions…..I have been disappointed with picture discrepancies in the past and have learned to do a floss toss/photo comparison & then change the floss to brighter/truer colors! Had to stop to make these comments….back to the video 👏

Thank you! I hope that you enjoyed the rest of the video 😊. That’s a smart idea, doing some backstitching on Santa’s beard, I’ll look and see what I have. I put Wonderful on my WIPGO board, I figure that I can make decisions about it when it comes up. Thank you for your advice! I appreciate it!
