Thank you so much for watching! My Mom reads the comments so she will be so glad to see your Birthday Wish. But I will make certain she sees it. 😁 I’m very glad I chose that fabric for Olga’s Stocking. I was so close with going with the more neutral fabric but went with my gut. So glad I did. Looking forward to chatting more!

Hi Jan, great to catch up with you again! I find listening to you chatting about stitching so relaxing, so thank you for these moments of peace. Beautiful stitching! I love your stocking especially. I’m working on my first dimensions stocking and they are a commitment but I am loving seeing it come to life and all the detail. Glad to hear you are recovering and your mum had a good birthday. Take care and happy stitching. Emily 🧵

Happy Belated Birthday to your precious little Mother❣️ You are so blessed to still have her with you…..I loved ‘Ginger’s Needlework Shop’ and miss it so much… Last time I spoke with Ginger she was working at ‘Needleworks’ in Austin….So happy that you had success removing the screw from your shoulder, pray you continue to heal fast and have no more trouble with it….❤❤❤

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I will pass that along. I am extremely blessed to still have her. Here brother is 98 so hoping I will get to enjoy her for a while longer. Ginger’s was the best. I went to t Needleworks in Austin a couple years ago and did see her there. They don’t carry much cross stitch though. Thanks for the well wishes on the arm. I’m so ready for it to be back to normal.

I had daycare to pay so I had to curtail the spending. Learned a lot about people & their stitching styles. My Mom was a stitcher so we shared many hours talking & dreaming about pieces … she was a monogamous stitcher. She stitched some models for the shop, too! Take care & waiting for another video. Jan
@HoopItUpWithJan0606 Жыл бұрын
@@janmiller9702 I can so relate to the daycare commitment. Sometimes it seemed like I was working just to pay daycare. But all was good. I used to be monogamous myself. That used to be the fun of going to the LNS. It meant you just finished something and got to go pick out your new project. It was so fun. I just love stitching!!!!

Hi Jan! I’m a new subscriber- sent over to watch you by Brianna Lentz. I like the wide variety of projects you work on. Cog to your Mom on turning 90! That’s fantastic! Do you use any kind of magnification to stitch on the higher count linen? I’m having trouble even seeing the holes on 32 count. (I’m just about 60 and my eyesight has been getting worse the last few months). Looking forward to your next video!
@HoopItUpWithJan0606 Жыл бұрын
So glad you came over and joined me. Brianna Lentz is so awesome. I really admire her. I treated myself to a pair of prescription bifocals specifically for stitching on 40 ct. I took a 40 ct project with me to my eye exam. My doctor measures from where I hold my stitching. But before that I used a magnifying lamp I have had forever. It’s no special brand. Just something someone handed me down. Look forward to visiting in the future.

Jan, was the shop Ginger’s in Austin, Texas? There was a shop by that name when we lived in Austin. It was in the Cameron Village Shopping Center off of I35. I am slowly stitching an old piece by Mosey and Me. I bought the pattern and the linen for it back in the 90s at the Georgetown Quilt Show. Where do you live?

Yes. Ginger’s was in Austin. Right near Capital Plaza. Mosey ‘N Me is awesome. Judy & Frank were so much fun. I was sad to hear about his passing. I live in Burnet County.

Hi Jan. You’ve just passed on the enabling. I ordered two of the Native American books on Amazon, one for me and one for my sister. They are used in good condition and were only $18 for both including shipping. Emma has a sal going. Do you want to join? I need to look closely at the pattern when I get it. I might leave off the border and moon background. I would like a wall of beautiful girls from around the world. I already have an African piece that is almost finished. Thanks for the back stitching vs. couching tip. I’ll watch that video today. I don’t know how to backstitch but as an embroiderer I’ve done couching. Ann (Selfish Stitcher)
