I 100% agree with you on the unboxing experience thing, when i bought my S10+ (still rocking it) i was so satisfied with the experience. The box itself wasn't special but inside it was: The phone, the CHARGER, USB to USB C cable, high quality AKG tuned earbuds with extra ear tips AND even a USB to USB C converter. It felt like it was worth every penny! Nowadays not so much...

I am honestly impressed by the depth someone finally took to rewiew the S22 ultra. I also cannot agree more about the fact that removing everything from the box, the lack of the SD card slot, the jack, the high price tag is stupid unacceptable. Thank you for saying those things in a video, a few others to no one else did that because they are too compliant with manufacturer sh!t. I hope Samsung has a good look at this video!

One thing I dont like about Samsung is they often follow Apple's footsteps, then the other Android manufactures follow up. They are removing features and charging more. Think about this. The Note 10 plus comes with 12gb ram standard and 256gb and external mirco SD. We are in 2022 and the S22 U only has 8gb ram. The note 10 came with 8gb. Note 9 came with 6gb and had an option for 8gb ram and 128gb storage. So its the same or less storage options when storage is becoming cheaper to Floss's point. I remember 5 years ago 256gb sd cards were $300. now you can get them for $50. Why are we getting less features for higher prices? Makes no sense. The standard should be 512gb and 16gb ram with micro sd slot. Bring back the IR blaster (yes that was on the galaxy S5!!). It also featured dual camera mode using both the front and back cameras simultaneously which was then removed, and finally released again on the S21 as a "new feature." I like the S22U but just hate the fact that features are removed. For some people they may not use all the features, and that is fine, but that doesn't mean remove the feature entirely. Keep the features available for those who want to use it.

I say this as a Samsung fanboy on my note 20 ultra right now. The s9 series has way better speakers than the note 20 ultra or s22 ultra. It sucks. They keep skimping out more and more each year. It sucks that I don't like iOS because I used to feel like Samsung was the android version of apple phones, but now Samsung is not that in my mind.

The audio settings can easily be changed in settings .. also Dolby Atmos settings ... Floss said by default it's a minor lack of bass compared to the iPhone. These things can be rectified

I had note 20 ultra 5g 256g as well plus I had 256 in the sd slot and it shits all over the s22 ALL OF THEM! I have the snap dragon variation and it's so God damn laggy on snapchat and stock camera and some other things but mainly those two. The resolution is lower legit the only thing I like is the flat shape of it. S22+ I got as I don't need the s pen and don't like the shape of notes to hold mainly the rounded edges. But damn that phone was amazing 😢

@@victoraltamirano3343 My S10+ battery wasn't fantastic over the past couple of months so it's an improvement. I've only had it less than a week - it's certainly no iPhone battery life but equally I can see where the phone could keep being optimised by Samsung. Solid day battery life but not much more - I don't mind though as the super fast charging means I don't need to charge it overnight anymore! The 120Hz screen with the amazing panel + S Pen makes it a far superior experience overall.

That’s the thing they never put the thought people watching videos and holding a long time it’s really heavy and not stabil unless u have something to support it or on the table. Best way counter is having a grippy case on the sides which in some ways does help make the phone a bit flat on the sides

Thanks so much for the film-length review, Floss. Been following your content since 4 years, not the longest but I always look at your stuffs first before I consider any phone changes just for a more informed purchase. Took me a while before I finally decide to take a dip with the S22 Ultra. And frankly I am so glad with the performance and display of this thing. The S-pen really is something else, but if I am honest I probably won't be using it too much in everyday use, but I'd rather have the option to use it whenever I want. And as for the battery life debacle, well, I could easily get through a work-day without worrying it'll konk out since I keep my brightness moderate, only using FHD+ (the QHD I sometimes use for Netflix viewing), and not in 100% brightness blast since I don't wanna burn my retinas with all that nits. The 45W charge support is kind of a mystery since whenever I put it on my GaN 100W charger it will sometimes measure up to 5500 or even 6000 ma (1000 = 10W charging) when it's not heating up over 40 C and it was kinda interesting that it can charge that fast in short period before it throttle down to like 33W later (which is probably why it still needs 1 hour to charge up from 0 to 100%) I'm using the Ampere app from Playstore to do the measurement btw, not the most accurate like it was with those measuring devices but yeah, it's something at least. Putting that aside, I definitely love this phone based on just its massive screen, quad HD display and that dynamic amoled x2 display, and of course the S-pen. For me though, I need a good case to protect my investment, so I ordered the Supcase UB Pro for it too, in black color of course. Keep doing what you do, man.

Bc if you use a case, you'll never get accidental touches, and you can confidently put your phone on a surface facing down. The curved display is amazing bc it makes the experience emersive af. IPhone can't do that.

The reason the speakers aren’t as good is cuz the N20U had an S-Pen so the battery was downgraded to 4500mAh, Which wasn’t enough as android lacks the optimization to get amazing battery performance with small cells, The S22U has an S-Pen and a 5000 mAh battery with the cost of being slightly larger, Now it should be clear that area has a positive relationship with sound quality (i’ll explain if needed in another comment) so due to the 5000mAh battery and S-Pen taking extra space, and since they cant afford to make the phone even wider than it is, they decided to downgrade the speakers a bit (It can get as loud as some top tier flagships but not for long)

I upgraded from a Note9 and thought about getting the Note20 because it has the expandable memory and MST for Samsung Pay but what tipped me over to the S22 Ultra was the 4 years of software upgrades and the 5 years of security updates. The Note9 only gets security updates every other month at best now. So upgrading to a new phone is inevitable. You might as well pick a phone that's going to be maintained for awhile.

Most reviews say nothing about the improved modem over the past few years x50 to x55 x60 x65 ect. It is HUGE as far as connectivity to LTE and 5G network bands. Now they are incorporated into the CPU instead separate like on the note 20 ultra and prior and are absolutely monumental for good reception and speed. One of the most important features taken for granted and never reviewed. This phone with series 8 gen 1 has the most advanced modem to date for excellent connectivity and speed in the most remote places.

Floss is the only reviewer that can drop a near 2 hour review aka Snyder Cut of a phone and watch it all with confidence. As good as the S22 Ultra is it sold me more on the S21 Ultra or the Note 20 Ultra if I don't want to drop alot of $ on the S22 Ultra. We are in the age where we don't need to upgrade every year and they really ran out of innovative ways to sell phones and it's just little incremental updates year to year. You're going to love it! My Battery life has actually gotten better as time goes on. I'm on week 2 of my S22 Ultra and i can go through a full day with 20-25% remaining. When i first got it, had to plug it in in afternoon/evening for a few minutes to make it.

The speaker issue is 50/50 for me because I stay with my headphones ready to go. Best thing though for headphones is the adapt sound option where you can use the hearing test to customize your sound exactly they way YOU hear. Makes the sound so much better and you have to option to go back to the standard audio vs the hearing test audio. Thanks Floss for another great review as always!

The biggest thing I'll say though to the advantage of Samsung even if their presentation sucks. I don't think anyone can really knock on them for their update policies right now. They're the only OEM offering 4 OS upgrades. Not to mention that One UI 4 has overall been a significantly better experience than even stock Android 12 for a lot of people.

I personally love the s-pen and I am gutted about the lack of expandable storage but I'll live without it. Its a brilliant upgrade from a note 9 for me and I know I'll keep this phone for 5 years now. As Floss has said, the yearly upgrades just are not enough to open your wallet. The changes these companies are making to their phones are not worth that kind of money. So, yes, its worth the upgrade in my opinion. If you were asking Floss then please ignore this and listen to the Boss. Lol peace.

I sold my google pixel 6 pro and purchased the S22 Ultra on launch. Had it for about 2 weeks and love it. I have not missed my pixel 6 pro at all. Maybe after taking a pic or two i thought to myself "the Pixel would have taken a better shot" but overall I'm very satisfied with my decision to go with the S22 Ultra.

If it wasn't for Samsung's trade in deals I wouldn't have traded my Note 20 ultra 128 Gb. I got the S22 ultra with 512 Gb for under 400 dollars. Much better finger print scanner, LTP 120h display while at 1440p and 45 w charging. Only thing I'll really miss is MST.

What Floss is saying about the battery is 100% true. When I just got my regular s22 I got about 3-4 hours of SOT. After 2 updates and almost 3 weeks this little guy pulls off 6 hours of SOT and sometimes even more with 120 hz, adaptive brightness, gaming and a lot of social media.

Yup. It's always rough at first when the phone is brand new. Not sure if it's true or not, but people say the phone learns your usage patterns and becomes better able to conserve battery life based on your usage, but at first before this happens the phone seems to have very poor battery life. Plus optimizations made in the updates that come shortly after launch.

I just upgraded to the S22U from a Note 20 Ultra. I got my S22U yesterday. The only reason I switched was because the camera on the S22U allows you to zoom out when recording video, and I like that crystal clear buttery smooth QHD+ 120hz. I absolutely agree with you though that if you have a N20U to stay with it, the upgrades on the S22U are VERY minimal.

I don't know if they've changed that with a software update or something I just know that at the time when i had the N20U you could not shoot video using the wide angle camera.

I have found the battery life to be better on the s22 ultra and I love being able to have the phone with the brightness bar at 50% and the extra brightness turned on and I feel like the phone is very seeable in any setting

He is comparing it to iPhone 13 and S21 Ultra.. the upgrade from those phones is minor . But from a One+ 7t you will definitely feel the difference. That said, I sold my s21 Ultra and pre ordered s22 ultra. I am kinda disappointed.. battery mediocre, performance boost again mediocre, basically it's the S21 Ultra tweaked. It's not a new phone. I moved away from Note 5 back in the day to S series because they were narrower and easy to use one hand. This phone is not it. I will or may sell my s22 ultra once it arrives. While Floss didn't touch on the recent Samsung throttling scandal, it seems to be real. Geekbench actually banned Samsung devices due to them faking results or something. I like the ZFlip 3 but I am told it has bad battery and no dex. Makes me reconsider my options. Iay get a new s21 ultra again or just go for S21 FE, use left over money to upgrade to tab S8 Ultra or something. Good luck with your choices

@@yongzhenkit6622 I used to carry my phone's 2-3 years. Problem with that is, I am a power user! That means allot of screen on time. These OLED screens look awesome but are delicate and not built to last. S4 Note 5, S6edge S8+ S10+ all had the same problems with screen... As soon as you cross 18 months, they are prone to screen burn, shadows or worse, flicker or bands. Now that Samsung phones are not depreciating like they used to, makes sense to upgrade as soon as warranty runs out. I loved the S21 ultra so much I am tempted to sell the 22 when it arrives and save the extra cash. More reason for considering skip on 22 is recent controversy on Snap dragon CPUs running hot and hungry. Which makes me believe that it's the reason Samsung ended up in a throttling scam which Geekbench also took up and banned Samsung flagships. Don't get me wrong. They are GREAT phones.. it's nothing BUT an upgrade for you over the S9± for me it's meh.. over the S21 Ultra
