Barry McCockiner, “Iron Tears” IS from their first album. Do you mean any other song on their first album? Personally, the first album, “Doomsday For The Deceiver” is just a pure speed metal album. Even “No Place For Disgrace” had speed metal leftovers. The over-the-top high pitched screams can get annoying on those albums. The solos on those first two albums SUCK, big-time! For some of the tracks on “Deceiver” one of the guitars wasn’t even in tune. Or the dude was just tone deaf, because he hit A LOT of horribly off-key notes.
@ThrashRebel
@ThrashRebel 4 жыл бұрын
Well, after Cliff died James & Lars took complete control. If Cliff had lived they wouldn’t have sold out as quickly as they did.
@ThrashRebel
@ThrashRebel 4 жыл бұрын
Barry McCockiner, yeah, the riffs on the first album sounded like they were written by s bass player. 😂 It was just non-stop “rolling” riffs. The high-pitched singing & off-key solos didn’t help. If they re-did the album with less screaming, better solos & better engineering it would be better. They did a reissue, remixed version that sounds better, but still has all of the screaming & shitty solos. It would be nice to see Jason rejoin (if they would take him back). Jason matured, musically.

I missed seeing this lineup of F&J by about 3 hours one time. I think that was in ‘86. I was at a benefit concert for a Phoenix bar called Bootlegger’s and these guys were the headliners. I saw the first 3 or 4 bands but then I had to leave early. I never got to see them with Jason. By the time I finally saw them (on halloween ‘87 at a bar in Mesa, AZ called Prisms), Jason had already joined Metallica, and the rest was history. I wish he had stayed in Flotsam, although I’m sure he’s glad he left for Metallica.

I went to high school with these guys. They were older than me though. In 1986, I went to a party in south Scottsdale given by these guys. It may have been one of their houses, or a parent's house. They weren't very friendly, at least not to me and my best girlfriend. Though, I think we were invited only because we were young skinny girls with long permed & teased blonde hair... what a look lol! In other words, we were new meat or just females to fill up the house!

Whenever I think that my headphones are broken or unbalanced, I always play this video. If I hear anything out of the right, I get new headphones.
