Geology for gold diggers - 107 a There are many forms of gold - mostly considered flakes and nuggets - but the correct definitions should be flakes and roundels : (1) dust, (2) flour, (3) flakes, (3) pickers, (4) pellets, (5) nuggets, (6) threads, ... and (7) original thick intact gold veins. Tectonic gold comes in mother lode (7) veins, .. while (6) threads appear within quartz/quartzite vein cavities. Any further beating and battering of these veins and cavity gold ... are found in streams by hydrological and weather erosion, then tumbling the soft pure metal in a clumsy surface-shaped particle roundels of various sizes (4 and 5). Alluvial gold, coming from tectonic mother lodes, will be large to small flakes. These flakes will also be tumbled into (3) smaller picker, (4) larger pellet, and (5) nugget roundels. Glacial placer gold comes in scraped-off versions of flakes from an original mother lode source - eventually beaten and pummelled into rounded (1) dust, (2) flour, (3) picker, (4) pellet, and (5) nugget roundels. As such, the size of the flakes - (1) micron, (2) millimeter, (3) centimeter, and (4) decimeter (and larger) all determine the same size of eventually roundel (1) dust, (1) flour, (2) pickers, (3) pellets, (4) nuggets (and larger). The Lake Superior gold shows that the (hidden dust), flour, pickers, and pellets were once their respective-sized flakes - but glacial and later hydrological action, rolling and tumbling the flakes on the lake bottom and upslope shoreline into roundels. Eventually, this allows the water flow and storm surges to propel these roundels easily up onto the beach shoreline and tidal zone, ... while the original flattened flakes still settle out and remain in the deep lake bottom - waiting their rounding and eventual uplift onto the beach far later in history. This supplies knowledge that various sources of the basalt-leached greenstone belt gold evaporites produce these flakes and roundels of dust, flour, and pickers, known to be on the Canadian and America shorelines, but a large mother lode still resides under the lake bottom. Such continuous action of digging and eroding out the bottom continues production of these evaporite flakes that are turned into roundels, and thrown up onto the shorelines and tidal surge zones.. Any other debris morraines of retreating glaciers dumping their loads of all kinds of various sized flakes and roundels leaves dust, flour, and pickers.
