Stop attacking until you run out of stamina, you need to leave enough to be able to dodge away. Stop pressing forward while attacking, that's why you keep kicking the air for no reason. Look for some undead bone shards to upgrade how much health is regained with each estus flask. There is 1 in Undead Settlement, 1 in Farron Keep, 1 in Cathedral of the Deep, burn them at Firelink Shrine bonfire. I will never understand why people WANT to be stressed out and have a pulse rate of 210 fighting unfair bosses, but I've never played DS or ER specifically BECAUSE I don't enjoy that feeling, as if I had 50 espressos and get all shaky. Bleh. I almost didn't buy Black Myth Wukong for the same reason - and I ended up finding several bosses in that very frustrating, but I did beat it multiple times and platinum it - BUT the developer's stated goal was for the difficulty level to be "sightly less than some DS games, but satisfyingly challenging at times" - which is 100% true in that I found challenge, but the sort where once you die a few times, you understand the boss mechanics on each one, when to dodge, what to look out for, repeat until you win - it seems DS has the same mindset behind it - die until you get good enough to beat it - but I feel as though if DS is even 10 or 20% harder, that is already going to guarantee I will hate it since I got VERY pissed off at one boss in particular in BMW that I - and a ton of other people - died to many many times. I feel BMW is riding that line where if it was 25% harder, it'd be too hard - 25% easer, it wouldn't be challenging ENOUGH - then again even with BMW there's a built-in thing where every enemy gets noticably stronger, more hp, hits harder, every NG+, to the point where by NG+9 or 10 EVERYTHING can one-shot you if you don't dodge EVERYTHING. BUT, I'm not that much of a masochist that I'd deliberately beat it that many times PUREly to transform it into a nearly impossible to win game. It's an option that is there I guess for DS lovers who want to be PUNISHED for f'ing up a dodge - which given you'd be one-shotted if you beat it enough times, is exactly what'd happen. SO. Here's my question, as a COMPlete outsider to DS - DOES it have ANY ability to get AROUND not being awesome at dodging / parrying 100% of the time - as in...can I level grind, upgrade things, and get stronger, enough to where there's SOME room for error? If not....sounds too stressful.

Yeah I was struguling with the Abbys watchers the same way, I was trying to beat them for 2 days. At some point I learned crutial thing that I need to maintain distance in the second fase and attack when he dose cirtain move. And whenever I was close to him more than 2 attack moves he would kill me.

FYI bandits knife and rapier are the best weapons in the game. bandits knife has quickstep fast attacks and bleed " imbue it with a bleed gem, and rapier make it sharp and get 30 faith for sunlight blade it shreds everything is super fast and "i think it has a parry" build dex hp stamina and 30 faith also Caestus is the best offhand weapon in game imbue it with a simple buff for slow regen to fp best pary phrames in game and has a great special ability.

Bro, your thoughts are very similar to all our thoughts on our first playthrough.... Abyss Watchers seem impossible at first, my best advice, soul farm, level up as much as possible. It'll take time but worth it!
