Also want to clarify this is purely an analysis of loona not anything else it’s not supposed to be deep hope this helps

someone on twitter pointed out that they think the rest of the artms tracks are also gonna be inspired by the artms predebut releases, so flower rhythm = algorithm, candy crush = plastic candy, and air = air force one

The thing I appreciate the most about LOONA music and the post-loona acts is that they rarely settle for making easy listens. I don’t want to put down other groups, but easy, basic songs have been trending recently and at a certain point it stopped being a refreshing departure from the hectic pop sounds we often associate with kpop, and they just became boring. Respectfully, Easy by Le Sserafim makes me wanna slam my head into a wall just to feel something. Loona would never do me like that, their songs always deliver this delicious complexity and just that something (could be the instrumentation, the rhythm, a melody) that gives my brain something to gnaw on.

seriously, what is going on with lesserafim. their debut album was incredible and they had some quality tracks later on. Easy sounds like it was made in a lab.

@@emmie135 Hybe are trend jumpers, they figure out what does well, so they choose mostly similar songs for their 3 current gg(not including fromis) and they all do well which is whatever. Lsf latest album was full of songs you've heard before, swan song with sza's kill bill and smarter with water, which is kinda controversial since it's an afrobeats song with non-black people working on it.

People are calling the mixing bad on twitter, which I just can't understand. The synths and vocal production are harsh and metallic, kind of like if you threw loonatic into a blender. There is nothing out there like this right now. It almost reminds me of PC Music. I think it ended up clashing with what people expected from the title.

birth and flower rhythm really feel like a full meal when you compare them to a lot of current kpop songs (which are like fruity gummies or something, you can eat more than one but in the end it doesn’t fill you up as much.) it’s really interesting. both of them sort of, but mostly birth are very tied with the MV, it feels like a full art piece that has to be absorbed as a whole rather than streamed on the daily. it makes me wonder what the title track is going to be like, if it will be more easily digestible and likeable or if they’re going to keep this unique whatever this is up. i commend modhaus for always trying new things, even though sometimes it falls flat (their AI and NFT shenanigans for example) because this album looks like it’s gonna be really fresh and interesting

I agree with your whole essay here 😂 like the Loona girls have been on to something from day 1, and it's so rewarding as a fan. The difference is really that Loona members clearly love and care about being artistic 6:37 I think heejin said what you think happened on her react to the k interview about vivid/algorithm. She even referenced one of the dance moves.

one of the few kpop songs as of recent to do anything special and actually fleshed out.. kpop lately is so insanely boring with all songs relying on using the same trending genres with the instrumentals most of the time doing nothing unique whatsoever (which isnt always a bad thing but the majority of the time ESPECIALLY lately everything is just so samey and bland). coming from someone who strictly cares about music for kpop, i dont wanna sound like a company stan bc im not but modhaus releases are truly like the only interesting thing in kpop nowadays and are so underrated. idk how theres a lot of people that really dont enjoy them i mean obviously everyone has their own opinions but theyre so far ahead of everything else in kpop rn
