A nice variety of flowers and foliage, also the colours are perfect for a fall arrangement. To me the floral pillow damages stems lesser then the chicken wire. Can't wait to see the next video ☺♎

A lovely design which showcased the merits of the pillow well. It looks easier to handle and maintain than chicken wire fashioned into a similar shape. I’m looking forward to seeing how the egg works. 😀

I've used chicken wire for vase arrangements (nothing like your masterpiece, i might add!) and have cut the fingers off myself!!! Love the natural style of your arrangements. I'm from Holland so I'm intrigued what you meant with Dutch style / heavy at the back. From autumn until spring I have a big vase on a garden table with flowers that just went over the top. Inside the house they would have lasted maybe another three days. Outside they will three weeks. So the arrangement changes every week. I take some flower out and add some leftovers from inside the house. Your piece reminded me of that but I don't use that expensive flowers. Unfortunately can't afford that every week. :)
@FlowerJoos6 жыл бұрын
Marc de Groot I think I used the term Dutch style quite loosely - so adding larger headed flowers higher up - more than we would normally. I love the idea of flower arrangements outside - what a great idea and they last longer. Thanks for commenting and watching 😀

Hi John -- Hello from an island off the west coast of Canada - near Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia. At the beginning of the summer I bought 12 weeks worth of 'buckets' of flowers. Every Friday I went and picked up my bucket from a local farm -- their choice of material - I actually really enjoy the challenge of using what I'm given instead of what I've chosen. This is the second year I've done this -- I do the church flowers. I've also grown some of my own this year to supplement if necessary. The farm supplies no greens so I've been using blackberry and hawthorn (why do they all have such heavy duty thorns!!) and have found they last quite well. I do use floral foam sometimes but use plenty of water with it. How does the costs of the pillow you've demonstrated compare with foam? I used to own a flower shop so am always thinking of the cost of sending out an arrangement.
@FlowerJoos6 жыл бұрын
Diana Craig thank you for the message and ‘Hello’. That’s a great idea getting a bucket a week - even if you have to find you own foliage. I used some hawthorn this week - though ended up with some beetles in the car! The pillows worked out comparable to using foam , so not cheaper. They then would win out if they are re-used again and again, so it depends if you are using them for orders or contract work or in the home. I bet your buckets had some nice content. Greetings and thanks for watching! 🙋🏼♂️💐

I have been watching Holly's venture with these as she designed, got her distributor and is showcasing it more and more. I wonder about the sizes of them, mostly I have seen you buy it along with her own containers to hold the pillows. Are you finding it hard to get them to fit your vases you already have? Love the arrangement and so happy to see you try the pillow out and critique it.
@FlowerJoos6 жыл бұрын
paula carli I know what you mean - they are fully designed to fit the accompanying compote dishes in the range. I found they have fitted other containers just as well - on this I used oasis fix to secure it in, but it could be taped in as well. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙋🏼♂️

shellybech1 thank you! This is an American product, so you will find it more easily in wholesalers there. Or try Holly Chapel flower pillow as a search on Amazon - it does show options there. 😀🙋🏼♂️

Would you suggest this as a mechanic for a beginner or amateur? I’m considering using these for my tall arrangements at my wedding reception (5-7 30” vases) I was thinking it would be good because they can be done a day or two in advance. Thought I could build them and keep them in a separate vessel for hydration. And then just pop them in the vase at my venue. I have intermediate experience with silk florals and foam but very limited experience with fresh.
@FlowerJoos2 жыл бұрын
These would be perfect - as you say, condition your flowers and then create easily and quickly in advance. The only thing is you might find the pillows need secured to the container. So one option is to make then in the containers then empty most of the water for transport, then refill there. Or you could make them there and transport the flowers flat. Have a practice with them to check out the best option for you logistic wise. Congratulations in advance for your wedding - and remember to delegate and make use of helpers!

Hi I was curious if you have a website. I wanted to see how you charge for items like this. Thanks!
@FlowerJoos4 жыл бұрын
Paige Allen we don’t have a website I am afraid as we just do floral videos now rather than retail. Costing is such a difficult thing - it can be approached in so many ways and it depends what your situation is. My best advice is cost it our for what suits you - including labour and everything. Then that’s the price! 😀🙋🏼♂️
