Flowmaster Super 44 before and after on a 2001 Jeep Cherokee

A before and after video on the Flowmaster Super 44 muffler. All exhaust parts are stock still, only change was the muffler. Depicted in the video are both an outside and inside view with the stock and new mufflers, to give you different ways of listening to them. Hope this helps you make a choice.

This is how to make an exhaust video. List everything done to your exhaust ie. (nothing which is gonna be me except I have federal emissions) and then not recording it directly next to the exhaust to just get air in the microphone.

I now have installed my FM S44 and must say it definitely sounds different compared to your video - less growl, throaty and deep. I have a MagnaFlow cat installed, may be that makes the difference - your thoughts ?

Well yeah if you have a different cat than I have installed of course it’ll sound different. Everything on mine apart from the muffler is still stock.

Did you match the diameter of the stock 2.25” pipe and butt weld it or get a larger diameter inlet/outlet to slide over the stock pipes?

Matched it, continuous 2.25” all the way.

@@pactdonkey I believe them to both be the same size. I had a shop weld mine on and looking at it, it doesn’t look like it was slid over or through.

Absolutely none. That was my biggest concern but to me its not any more noticeable than the stock muffler.

Super 44 is the best for the 4.0 . I have one too. It sounds like farts with the wrong exhaust

Absolutely, its nothing crazy but it certainly does wake it up. Leave the fart cans for the Civics!

@@succulentjacob the super 44 will break in nice. Get yourself a resonator style exhaust tip. It makes a difference. Check out mine!

I had an xj with stock mufflers. The catalytic converter was stolen and when it was redone the muffler was now closer to the cat by about 3 inches and it was loud for stock
