@Tr4shy C4t I went back and watched their previous matches and I could not believe how many times Dake got screwed out of points. I used to like Jordan but after he straight up squeezed his thumb into Dake's eye in that US open match I lost all respect for him. I saw Borroughs rake guys in the eye before and thought MAYBE they were accidental but in that match he undoubtedly 100% intentionally gauged his eye and it's extremely obvious upon watching the replay from another angle. I'll never respect a guy who would stoop that low just to win. Like you said though, Dake got his revenge in a comparatively harmless way by reverse teabagging him in the olympic trials lolol.

@@HB448 baloney. They all do it. If they have 30 seconds to hold a lead, they'll fend off for as hard as they can to not get taken down. It's very rare the wrestler who is up is offensive. Most of them will do exactly what dake did- if he is up by 2, he will give up 2 push outs, but will not give up a takedown to lose by criteria. I dont think it's a blatant in just giving it up. Theyll fight toot and nail, but most of them arent sweating at that point. Perfect example is gable Steveson when he was dominating Gwiz in their 2nd match. Secondly, strength alone won't win against Sidakov. The Russians obviously utilize Judo as part of their wrestling preparation because when I watched the Russian competition to decide Olympic participants the throws were much more dynamic. Dake won did not dominant, if your marginal victory can be taken from you with a take down can you really say you dominated the match? Domination is not the phrase for 3:0 and 2:2, what Taylor and Stevenson did can be considered dominating the opponent not Dake who edged his opponent.
