His second Olympic Gold was one of the most dominant performance I have ever seen at the Games. Plus, he was kind enough to sign my son's wrestling shoes! Love, ya John!

Not many people can claim to have been the very best in the world at one thing. Even fewer can claim to have been the best at more than one thing. I am old enough to remember his world and Olympic championships. He then went on to become a winning coach. Either of the wrestling or coaching careers would be a great achievement, but to have had both is amazing.

Coleman Scott is a no brained. He wouldn’t have given up a head coaching job unless Smith was endorsing him. And why not Chris Perry as his assistant. He’s already there. He’s Smith’s nephew.

I personally think the NIL is pushing coaches like this out. I think more will continue to retire, not just in wrestling, but all college sports. I’m not stating my opinion on whether I think the NIL is good or bad, I just think it’s making certain folks not want to coach with that in place.

Oklahoma State is on the rise, if all the recruits stay, what if Mark Branch comes in to be assistant to Coleman? He has done a good job at Wyoming. That would be an amazing set of coaches.

Hold up… you are suggesting that OSU is a more storied program than Iowa? Having been a youth & high school wrestling coach in Northeast Ohio for years, I am no fan of Iowa wrestling, but they are due the respect… from Gable to the Brands their record speaks for itself… John Smith is probably the best wrestler I ever saw and one of the most successful coaches…
