Snake bite boots would be useful during your explorations...Or even calf high boots.

They are the most venomous snake in FL, but their fangs are way in the back of their mouth, making it less common for them to inject you. Plus, they are pretty chill snakes. I found one that I had to redirect from going into the entrance of a cave I was about to go in, I scared it off about a good 150 feet away from the cave. On my way back out of the cave, I was greeted face to face (within 10 inches) from the coral snake. Scared both of us. I bashed my shin on a boulder, and the snake flinched and startled off again. It was a fun trip.

I lived in FL for 37 years. Never saw a bear once.

@@EvanRobinson85 I actually just saw two of them last week but that was in central Florida by the Wekiva but it’s not common unfortunately. I see more alligators, hogs and deer than anything

@FLtrailblazer That's pretty cool. Were they together, or was it on separate occasions? I tried to get in touch with you while I was in FL. Wanted to show you a few places. Didn't have any luck obviously. Lol

@bobwitter7319 Thanks for that info. Interesting. I guess I've either been lucky or unlucky (depending how you look at it) to not see one. Although.. In the 37 years I lived there, I only saw 2 rattle snakes, and I know for a fact they are everywhere. I've seen just about every type of wildlife FL has to offer.

The airflow in that cave is serious. You can hear it every time you stick your camera close. The cave is maybe 60-85 feet long but should go much much further.

@@FLtrailblazer I'll be coming back down to FL eventually. I could take you in it. It isn't really that bad. Quick simple cave.

Trailblazer / Just fyi when I lived on Stagecoach Trail I used the forest for several sport hobbies . If I was coming to or from my truck in the dark , id carry a walking stick and use it to move up and down in front of me on the trail etc. to avoid spiders and webs . As you know some are large and dangerous .
