I am learning Malayalam as a hobby, I simply love the language, I learn a lot from your videos - I'm Marathi bdw. I had a question, I had asked a friend how to say come here, she said 'angottu vaa' so is angottu the same as ivide and can it be used in polite or formal situations or is it a colloquial dialect word? Thanks! Also, which dialect is the standard/textbook/ official Malayalam based on? ( Like khariboli for Hindi and Puneri for Marathi) thanks!

Ingottu varamo is how you ask a person to come here.ingottu va is used casually in like houses.

Btw we don't say angottu va.angott means there so angottu po is go there .we shouldn't add va and angottu together.va means come.so u are basically saying come there.
