What’s interesting about 1176 compressors is that even when the compression is off, it’s doing something good to the tone running through it’s transformers. I have a stereo preamp running one output to my interface and another through my WA76, and the tone is always a bit better sounding to my ears running through the WA76 than the alternate out from the preamp that goes straight to the board.

just curious, did you not like the Dangerfox desk?...Im thinking about getting one. Also saw you got rid of the Rupert Neve compressor along with the ssl bus plus.. ?.. im getting into hardware myself and I want to get only what I need. A nice eq on the master bus ( hopefully Manley stereo pultec eq) followed by the api 2500+ and two Rupert Neve newton channels for tracking. I think everything else can be done in the box. What are your thoughts on hardware and is it worth having a whole bunch of them in this time and age?
@RiffsAndBeards11 күн бұрын
I have a lot of hardware. Specifically compressors. The DangerFox had a lot of mass and I found it was ultimately too big and cumbersome especially shooting video.

I'm in the market for a sit/stand desk (for music production and the day job) and revisited the Argosy Halo. I came across your unboxing video from years ago! What made you move on from that desk? I always thought that was the supreme setup that would feel like flying a spaceship but maybe at the end of the day you still have to just write your music lol...

I haven’t had too many rack style effects over the years, however, the rack effects that I did have sounded so good. I miss rack effects. Thanks for sharing.

Always love a good studio tour. Crazy to watch it evolve over the years of the channel dating back to the old house with the Rack POD lol. FAQ: Hey Fluff, is there any gear that you got rid of ( studio, guitar, amps ) that you regret?

Very clean setup. I love the personalized guitar picks. I too have personalized guitar picks in the styling of MetallicA. I'm a bit surprised you're rolling with the Antelope Audio Orion. I thought you'd go more Lynx Aurora type of dude. Cool Channel strips too. That API is 🤌

I thought you would have at least one delay in you chain, even put on low can thicken your sound. I use one all the time to thicken things up. Even at low levels. To each their own. I still love your channel.

Fluff!! Can you do a video on the shiva? As a fellow west coaster, I live in Sacramento, there is not a single place to go to hear some of the German amps, don’t get me wrong Mesa is here, but I want to compare the Mesa’s to the Diezels, Engls, Diftwoods and Bogners. And yes I know know Bogner is made here in the states, but Reinhold didn’t start off there, and I think it’s safe to say a guy named Reinhold Bogner is German and therefore he makes German amps

Do you find it inconvenient that to trial a different cab on the fractal, you have to reloop your track through the amp and load box to hear the difference? Or I suppose you could run the axe Fx as one of your inserts on the track in the DAW.

Bro, you gotta close down your aperture on the camera when you are doing these kind of videos. When you are moving around so much, you tend to get a blurry bokeh background on everything except a small focus point and people like to look at everything and every piece of equiptment. Maybe move to a 5.6 aperture?
