It's a Poly Searcher that grabs a body, I could see splashability from the getgo with how basically good Patchwork is. Fusion Sage and King of the Swamp were played way way back to get a Poly.

Said body can revive itself from grave and put a garnet back in the deck while being a level 3 dark monster which is one of the best levels and the best attribute in the game for starting combos. So yeah... Patchwork is nice

Frightfur Patchwork is just crazy. I've teched it in fusion decks like shaddolls before that just need access to more fusion spells and benefit from the extra body

Ok but fr we need more cards like gem knight fusion, that can support just serial fusion summons as a combo. We dont have enough decks that can go crazy with fusions like raptors do for xyz or synchrons do for synchros.

A good number of Fluffal/Frightfur cards are so cracked that I actually kinda hate it. Toy Vendor is the single best consistency card for an archetype in the game. Sabertooth and Kraken are disgustingly good Extra Deck bosses too.

Fluffal might have been rogue playable in 2017 if they had gotten patchwork on time. By the time we actually got it the decks chance had passed. Same as D/D sadly. Awesome late arc V decks that tcg Konami screwed out of their chance to shine.

Who cares about being top tier. As long as the deck feel function properly and slap cheeks which fluffals can do consistently, that's all that matters for an anime deck. Now if only I can say the same thing about other decks line Predaplant or actual OG heroes

Tbh predaplants got amazing support, not broken but good enough, also there are other good anime decks, code talkers, marincess, gouki (does anybody remember when it was the best deck?), cyber dragons ect, but you are right there are a lot of bad anime decks, red eyes, blue-eyes, DM, Gaia, summoned skull, roids (but not speedroid, speedroid is good), jinzo, Ojama and armed dragons, and many many many more

Pretty sure it has something to do with the fact this card Is an instant Chimera (the new fusion from BOL) OR the fact that it can be used to make most of the despias and in turn weirdly becomes a suoer powerful extender for a fusion board with albaz+despia

@@THPGoldenWind so basically the specification for despian fusions and some albaz fusions is "despian monster + 1 light or dark monster" and sometimes specifies light or dark, all pf the edge imps are dark. So most people are running 2 to 3 patchwork and 2 to 3 edge imp chain, since when chain is used for fusion material, you get to search another patchwork, and albaz and some despia cards are super easy to fuse up with chain. Basically the goal is to open chain and one fusion card that IS NOT patchwork, so that you can extend your fusion plays when you use chain for your quaritus or masquearade. This works with the new chimera as well, because the fusion specifically calls for just 3 effect monsters with different names spread between your hand and field, which is a really good board breaking fusion tool.

@@nathansparks9814 the thing that's nuts about it is that edge imp chain actually procs its search eff whenever it hits the grave at all (not just by fusion), meaning it's a fantastic thing to send off of branded opening or whatever it's just a flexible extension that searches the equivalent to an engage, it's crazy
