I like to think that Mew is the ancestor of all the pokemons except legendaries as legendary Pokemons represent nature and other concepts of life and death. There are exceptions tho such as Genesect. I know that in games mew might be able to learn all the moves even that of legendaries but the games are different from lore. Plus, Pokemon has developed a lot from the past so it's obvious that there will be some contradictions. After all, they are a company that wants to make money so they don't bother too much about the minute details...

I mean the lore makes these impossible with contradictions everywhere. The first dragon must be related to mew and all Pokemon are related to mew. Therefore the type of dragon must be related to mew therefore the gen 5 main legendaries must be related to mew. Like that a serious contradiction.
