Also, didnt have a straight river flow, i tried to do an angle because of how limited i was to rocks to secure it. I didnt have proper pitch and rocks gummed up at beginning of skid. Come home and review what i did wrong. I love it. Thank you. I waited so long to get one. I am excited to try again.
@GreenMountainGoldTrap Жыл бұрын
A perfect V on the skid plate is indeed nice but, the GMGT's are forgiving if they aren't perfect. If the fluidization is good in the capture tray, you are good to go.

I own the smallest bazooka gold trap. Great size for back pack and lug everywhere. However, while in Ohio gold prospecting at a low flow river, I found it was blowing all the small gold out the tail end. I made a video about it Vickie and Ryan Gold Adventures, not a plug just so u can see what I did wrong. So I ended up putting my banjo pan with a dream mat in it under the outflow of my little bazooka and found a lot of blown out gold in the banjo pan sluice. I have not felt good safe using it since. I used to believe it was gold blow proof getting all pounded down to the bottom of the tray, but I was wrong. Who knows how much gold I've lost using it wrong. Thank you for the demo. I Wish I could find someone to trade my Bazooka in for a clear Vermont made one so I can see inside, love that clear plastic. It's like watching laundry wash through a clear door. Fascinating. Another reason I would like to trade my Bazooka for a Vermont, is every time I have to pull the whole thing out of my rock cradle it took me forever to make just for good water flow, is a nightmare to try to reposition it in just the same spot after emptying it. With the Vermont, that small removable tray is the perfect testing for gold piece of the entire sluice. Anyone who wants to barter a small back pack size bazooka for a Vermont made one I'm open for a trade. Size is not important. That little clear sliding tray for me IS. Love these, and since I live in Maine I got to get me one. Sorry I missed meeting you at the Vermont Awoooo meet and dig. I looked for you. Was kind of lost amongst all the good mining folks. Hard to recognize people in the dark. One day soon, I'll be buying me one.

You will get it Vicki! Just remember, the pitch is based on water velocity. So with that said, it's almost always different. The best thing to do is get used to what needs to be taking place in the capture tray. That determines the pitch needed for all situations.

Hi Joseph from ireland. Quick question should the pipes be visible at all times and if they get covered completely with material is the box over full and gets too compacted to stratisfy. In short when should you do a clean out.
@GreenMountainGoldTrap4 жыл бұрын
Hello Brendan, thanks for your question! While feeding the gold trap the pipes will cover over. The white tubes and walls assist the user in feed rate. After shoveling material onto the skid plate, I watch for the top of the front wall or the tubes to know when to shovel more onto the skid plate. In good flow this will have taken place before you can get you're next shovel full ready. As for the material inside the capture tray getting compacted, this can take place only when it is left unattended for 15 minuets or longer. It has to be kept active. Other wise, the heavies inside the capture tray will puzzle together as I like to put it. As long as it's kept active and you have the patience to keep going without doing a clean out, you can run material all day long. Hope this helped😁 Joseph

Itd be realluly nice if it was built large enough to accomodate a full size shovel scoop...i 100% love the desighn....but digging w that tiny spoon and shovel handle seems like it would take 8 hrs to dig a large hole to get near bedrock.
@GreenMountainGoldTrap3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the complement on the design! As for the rest, I'm not too sure I'm following you Bill or, maybe your joking! But if not, allow me to fill you in. During the testing stage, myself and two other people worked together feeding the 3' Riverbed hog for 8 hours only taking short breaks. I prefer the small shovel that you call a spoon because it does far better than a #2 shovel in tight spots. As for how much can be moved, I run over two yards a day by myself. Which is the reason I was nicknamed the human backhoe. The other down fall to using a #2 shovel is you would be over feeding the capture tray. With a clear design we can now gain greater understanding as to how a fluid bed works. All the others to date on the market were black abs plastic therefore we couldn't see what was taking place within the capture tray. So the misinformation of plopping full shovel fulls on thew skid plate was just that, misinformation. Eventually, once I get the needed cnc router, I will offer custom sizes. I myself want to have a go at a large version as well. But I will need a bucket loader to feed the monster! 🤣

@GreenMountainGoldTrap4 жыл бұрын
Sorry Mohammed. I don't speak of what angle because it all depends on water velocity. Every location = a different scenario. That's where Clear comes in handy. Set it up, prime the capture tray and let it tell you if it's set up properly. As for running it with a pump like a highbanker, you can indeed. Go to Ed Marvin's channel (Flash In Your Pan). He has two or three videos posted on how he converted his 23" Pay Streak Finder. In the future I will be coming up with something better as an add on package both for a highbanker and dredge set up.
