What is the standard temperature range for fluid coupling operation?

@@himawariahgasi8042 Depends on oil viscosity it can work upto 100 degree Celsius but according to operating conditions and seal temperature limits the fusible plug is equipped there which limits its operation up to certain range.

@@himawariahgasi8042 if a fluid coupling temperature is rising above its normal range, this means more slipping occurs. So in that conditions check the oil level. At different oil levels different slippages will occur. This slippage produces heat. A physical inspection of oil is enough. See the service manual for running hours and oil change.

Yes. It can. Unbalanced rotating mechanical components/device's will always cause vibration.

Can a fluid coupling or torque converter increase torque of AC motor?

No. Fluid couplings actually provide smooth acceleration. And the motor can start with a no load condition means motors can start with its high starting torque value.

So, a fluid coupling is kinda like a Tesla turbine?...only the impeller blades are 90° from the position they are found in a Tesla design but the clutch looks more like a Tesla turbine...

The word "efficiency" get's flashed around like a casual by-word. I have asked and asked yet no-one (so far) has been able to quote specific numbers or present graphical test results of the efficiency of the Fottinger hydraulic coupling. My general understanding from the automotive world is that it is unlikely to exceed much above ~80% whereas a well-designed fully-geared drive can exceed 90%. This is an important detail in respect of fuel consumption. My understanding is that ROLLS-ROYCE dyno tested salvaged DB's and analysed their supercharger drive design and efficiency. This must have generated an official report as this testing was commissioned by the R.A.E. I would like to see that report. It would go a long way toward explaining the mystery as to why R-R (and others) never copied it. Does any know for sure??
