for simplicity and to save the solution solving time, you can neglect the pipe wall thickness. If you want to simulate the real-life problem you can model it, no issue., but you will not get much more variations in result. Try in both cases.

@AnsysTutor6 жыл бұрын
Just ignore this warning, this generally comes if you have not assigned the domains as solid /liquid in the geometry modeling part (design modeler).This will not affect the result. The most important part is the assigning the solid /liquid domain in fluent cell zone . The error might you getting regarding failed mesh is due to the mesh restrictions if you are using a student version of ANSYS. If in your work ,no of elements are more than 5120000 then I will suggest to first reset the mesh and again mesh it with a large size cells so to get less elements.

You forgot to specify the inlet velocity of the cold fluid
@AnsysTutor4 жыл бұрын
There is an video editing error so that the inlet bc for outer domain is missing, the outer domain inlet is "velocity inlet " With value=0.01m/s.

is there sound on this video? because I can't hear anything. there was a music and it's over at 2:03 and rest of the video is silent. there is no music or talking, explanation..
@AnsysTutor7 жыл бұрын
there is no voice explanation in any of our tutorials, it has been created so that even a non English speaking person can understand it without any language as a barrier. In the tutorial videos it has been provided explanation as text in the section wherever required.,If you are getting any doubt or want any clarification in any section then can comment here ,so that we can able to help you. Thank you for your query.

I know nothing about ansys. I ahve just started to learn it so as you guess i don't know why you doing extrude after sketch1 why not drawing sketch1 and 2 then extrude and other applications. so this is one of them of course. there are a lot of questions like this. I asked for you maybe tell while you are doing these things. somethings can be understood but some of them can't be. whatever i try memorize it :)
@AnsysTutor7 жыл бұрын
Good question Omer, As per your query, you can also do like that by creating two sketches and then extrude. I have created it to illustrate the creation of geometry in a convenient manner. you can also export geometry created in any other CAD designing software into ANSYS. As you are a beginner I will suggest you to go through "Cornell university Ansys and fluent tutorials", and first start from 2D simulations, then after that proceed to 3D problems. So that you can understand the concept behind this clearly. You can also ask in our KZbin channel discussion page. Thank you

@ 22:13 You set it up inlets 400,410,420 K... but mine values were 300 K and i changed it to yours values but you didn t show the outlets values in the video and mine were again 300 K. so i changed them to 410,420,430 K ...then i calculated it but mine velocities showed different values (dark blue and light blues) i guess z velocities and energy lines. i guess mine startup settings were diffrent.

Check the flow model, whether its Inviscid or laminar or turbulent. if it is inviscid then change it to laminar/ turbulent. If this is not the problem then check the cell zone condition, and check whether the flow domain are assigned as fluid or not.

for solving heat exchange three models are available they are dual cell model ,macro model (grouped ungrouped) after turning on the energy equation u can see heat exchanger below radiation or check this linkwww.afs.enea.it/project/neptunius/docs/fluent/html/ug/node508.htm

what add frozen command do
@AnsysTutor6 жыл бұрын
add frozen keeps the domain as a different entity (multiple parts), but in add material, the newly created domain becomes single entity (single part) with the previously created domain.

Please check the cell zone condition, you might have assigned the fluid domain as " Solid"
