Hi Mel. I really love this painting. Great job. I have still been experimenting but still haven't come up with something I really like.... I will get back at it one of these days though. I just really need to clear a better space to work in. Glad things are going good for you and that you are still painting. You got such beautiful effects with paint and water and that little bit of pouring medium. Thanks for sharing your technique.

Beautiful pour on a large canvas! Wow, now I know what's been frustrating me for the last two days and with much gnashing of teeth, and hair pulling. I had vowed to go back to my watercolours and put what's left of my acrylics in a deep dark cupboard again... When here, tucked up in my bed, going through emails and this vid just popped into my inbox with the answer.... NOW I realise why I am not getting the effect I want...... not enough white!YOU are my artistic life saver! Thank you soooooo much 😘

So what is the trick to getting metallic silver to show up in my painting ?? I'm pretty new to all of this and just learning different things as I go which is not a lot so far. Lol. But I have used silver metallic several times with either blues or purples mainly and it never shows up ..any suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated . Thanks for sharing your process! Have you considered using left over smoothie (naked juice) bottles for mixing? I do a different kind of painting, but I like to dilute my paints. The wide mouth makes them easy to fill, I can shake it well and keep the leftovers. Just a thought to save time and paint😊
@MelyDartist7 жыл бұрын
Kimberlee Rocca thanks for the idea but shaking is not a good way to prepare the paint for this. It must be mixed and blended not shaked. Thanks though!

I keep watching this video over and over. I don't get anywhere near this effect. About how much water are you adding to the craft paints? Maybe mine are too thick. I usually use silicone and a torch. When I have tried water only, I haven't gotten many cells. I am using the same paints you are. Just wondering if I'm not using enough water. Thanks for your help! You are amazing!
@MelyDartist7 жыл бұрын
Maureen Rooney it's really hard to say I'd have to see your dilution. The positioning and the way you use the different brands with each other plays a very important role. The artist loft reaaaly helps with the cells its a must. Thank you so much! :)
@jalayneatkins85657 жыл бұрын
yours always turn out so amazing! I'm still unsure what you meat by the different densities causing the cells. this time you said you did them all to the same consistency. I want to make cells happen so bad!! they are just so cool!!

@brendaimy3687 жыл бұрын
It's just beautiful! Period. Do I understand that you poured the colored paint with no added water? And that the white paint had the additive and a good bit of water? Thank you.
@MelyDartist7 жыл бұрын
Brenda Imy thank you! all the paints need at least water to dilute them to the right consistency
