Isn't K1 redundant?

K1 is a relay (consisting of a coil and 2 pairs of contacts) . The left part of K1 is the coil, once energised- K1contacts are engaged. The right hand contact energises the valve block solenoid. I would say the middle contact allows latching of the circuit (bypassing the switch). It looks like A2 breaks the circuit. Hope this helps!
