The diatlov pass incident is one of the most intriguing mysteries I’ve ever heard of, and has inspired me to make a theory of my own that could very well be why they decided to run off into the woods. First I’d like to establish a certain condition that happens when your body experiences severe hypothermia. The condition is fittingly named “hide and die syndrome”. H&D syndrome happens whenever your body experiences severe hypothermia. You will start to feel extremely hot and feel the urge to take any clothing off, however, you are not actually burning up and taking insulating gear off will worsen this condition. After stripping down the victim of H&D will cram themselves into a tight space where they will soon after succumb to hypothermia. Knowing this info is important when addressing the strange ways and places where the diatlov pass hikers were found. But how did these experienced hikers get out into the cold weather? Well I may have an answer for that too. One of the hikers could have taken hallucinogenic drugs that caused them to see and hear things that weren’t there. Experiencing that terror the hallucinating member of the team could have ripped their way out of the tent and ran out into the snow. In the panic the other sober hikers might have went to stop their friend, knowing the danger that they could be in. The other hikers could have been in a rush to save their friend which is why some of them weren’t wearing their own clothing and some weren’t dressed at all. They were simply in a rush to get outside. After the underdressed hikers searched for their friend in the subzero temperatures for long enough they most likely were affected by Hide and Die syndrome and just like their hallucinating friend, took of whatever clothing they had thrown on while rushing out the tent, curled up in a tight space, and succumbed to the cold. But that’s just a theory… a tragedy theory! Thanks for reading. Also feel free to reply with some of your own thoughts and theories. And rip to all the people in this video
