You guys are so thoughtful including mental heath topic today! I hope more people opens up to this conversation without any stigma. Fountain pen, writing in a journal, expressing on paper is also an outlet to cope with mental health. The stigma has to end. 🫶🏻 Back to fountain pens, the last purchase I made was my very first Pelikan Souverän M 800 red 18k medium nib. It is so far my most expensive pen and one of the most incredible smooth writers I own. Everyone needs one! I send you both my love and hope you all have a wonderful week ahead! ❤️🥰

IMHO the PeliKan piston is the best. I pre-ordered the Pelikan Cabon & it is a spectacularly beautiful pen. Very different. I wound up getting it for a great price, but had to wait many months for it as did everyone., But I wanted to be sure to get one. I’m going to ask my son about his Karas custom pen. I bought it at the San Francisco 2018 Pen show for him as a gift. I think he used it for a while and then started to be a regular vanishing point user. I got him the blue anodized aluminum pen. Very nice sturdy Pen. He travels a lot. Great show. Your points about depression. Mental illness is such an important thing to bring up especially for men who are often hesitant to share their problems. It’s like any other physical problem that can be fixed overtime with the right treatments. Will check out your friends website. Thank you.

I appreciate this podcast - for addressing mental health, and everything fountain pen related. I love the Karas pens, I have 6 of the INK model, the extremely limited run they did in bronze is a prize, as is my 'Shipwreck' version. I am really digging the Vertex model from Karas, I have it in aluminum, ultem, and various resins, including one in urushi. Cross pens - the corporate drama is unfortunate. They've made some pens in the past that had the potential to be leveraged for the enthusiast community. The Townsend and Spire models had nibs by Pelikan, and the Peerless pens wear Sailor nibs. Like them or not, Cross made the best tribute versions of Star Wars pens. As for Pelikans, I have the M101N, M205, M300, 400NN, M800 (demo with english etching), and an M1000. I have just one Aurora, and 88 Minerali in green. Between the Pelikan and Aurora piston mechanisms, who would win? - Montegrappa. Love the ratcheting feel of that piston (I'm pretty sure Tibaldi sourced theirs from Montegrappa too).

Love the nod to the mental health resources. Super cool cause. I'm going to need therapy now that I learned I can't buy Pelikan at 50% of the US retail market.... c'mon Iguanasell!

Great episode as always , love the PSA for #mentalhealthawareness . Cross Pens had the Wanderlust collection a few years ago . I purchased The Malta(blue) and the Borneo (green) and the metal carvings and inlay are beautiful in person !

Great video as always. Like that you addressed mental health issues too. Shouldn’t be such a stigma in our cultures.

Copper doesn't have a smell. The metal reacts (as a catalyst, I belive) with some skin oils to chemically change them. So you are smelling yourself! I really like both the Pelikan M800 and Aurora Optima. Their nibs feel very different, and I appreciate them both, (Both Pekikan and Aurora nibs units screw out if you like, which makes deep cleaning easy.)

Give anything to an elementary age child and they will find a way to destroy it. Lol I will eventually get me a Pelikan M800(grail) ❤
