Who uses flutter apart from Google?
@amitdec9721 күн бұрын
There should not be any choosing in any way needed.. you like flutter, use it.. you like react native, use it.. you like both, use both.. don't be limited to technology and framework... use whatever you seem fit.. ofcourse to know that you have to use it.. at the end what matters is what you made, not what tech you used..

One of the major issue with flutter is as follows I was using catcher library for error reporting. After few years, I got some issues, may be conflict with other library, could not compile. Started using catcher2, it was ok but it did not report the email based errors, no idea about the reason. Recently it started giving conflict , could not compile at all with latest flutter and other packages. So i decided to remove the error reporting mechanism as I had to publish the app after a fix. Now I need to look for other error reporting may using firebase analytics. This is only one example, I had to remove certain libraries and used platform function instead to avoid library conflict. Other than this, Flutter is awesome.

flutter is too awesome ... I hope its here to stay I use it a ton ... its superfast , you cant deny (near native ) the next best is just native. for mobile to me its the best the others are all cool but flutter for production grade multithreading(isolates) all that you get my published apps ill never change to react or others

It seems to me that Flutter got more traction recently. The mobile aspect of flutter is very mature. The web is usable but probably the not the best solution for large websites.
@HelloCodepur22 күн бұрын
If someone is familiar with Flutter then they know this aspect very well, I personally would agree with this and would recommend Flutter web only for apps which are not content heavy but rather an extension of the mobile app. If web is your primary user base then maybe you should try something else most of the time

A good fork is hard. If you take one of the largest OSS projects the Linux kernel: Without Linus Torvalds at the helm, IMHO it wouldn't have be that successful.
@HelloCodepur22 күн бұрын
A good fork is definitely hard but I think we should let people try, the only thing is that they/people should market it once it becomes something or provides something valuable

But brother, this will kill ecosystem if the google team decide it discontinue and what about the Fuchsia project, google is still doing great about flutter people forget about huge updates like Impeller replacing Skia.
@LinxfordK21 күн бұрын
While nothing is certain, Flutter's current trajectory suggests Google's continued support. Worst-case scenario: If Google were to "kill" Flutter, the community would likely: 1. Fork the project. >> Flutter isn't going to die...... it will live just like linux, so flock is right........and we must add to that.. 2. Continue development. 3. Ensure compatibility. Flutter's open-source nature guarantees its survival.

I myself is a Flutter developer and I liked it. But unfortunately, irrespective of what happens in future the current signs are not positive. Your perspective is limited to the developer and its related ecosystem. But unfortunately, business decisions are done in a different level. It will be immensely difficult to convince a CEO/Senior management to adopt Flutter for its business with so much disruptions going on. It will be helpful, if you can establish your points with data and not your thoughts. This will help each developers to present Flutter to their business, group or other senior managers. Thanks
@HelloCodepur22 күн бұрын
That’s a valid point. Google conducts surveys annually for Flutter, and it provides valuable insights. You can explore the data or I’ll definitely create a video on it.

I always find it strangely out of place to see or hear the term "bro" used in a programming context. I don't remember exactly when it started happening, but in the previous century, programming was pretty much the domain of the nerds, while bros tended to choose less nerdy disciplines. And then I guess after around the year 2000, IT became more generally in demand as a career move and we got a lot more "bros" picking IT as a major. Of course we now have a Wikipedia page on the term "brogrammer" reflecting this phenomenon. I mean, it's actually a good thing to welcome more cultures into the discipline, but it still feels a bit unexpected to hear the term "bro" used in what is a highly intellectual discipline where you'd expect a more eloquent and refined use of language (or at least for people to strive for this.)
