As a flutter dev I tried react native today and was amazed never worked in js before and I had way more fun in react gonna make my next app with it and I might just make the switch

I was developing food delivery app back in 2022 July. I picked react-native because i had previous experience in react on we development. So I able to make all the app ui in 10 day with 34 pages. And integrated all the api from old app in 30 days but when we started testing it on different Android device and iphones we found tons of bug where the webView was just crashing on Mi and oppo device. And on some phones it was hanging and fonts becomes broken. Only on iphone it was working fine. While all the bugs had very sily a fixes like if set the webview opacity to 0.99 then it will work fine. But i don't know why the FB team just don't take this react native thing seriously. Also Microsoft has cancelled some of their plans for the react native. On the other hand we have flutter which has full support from google and they all the proper libs and support thats why startups like cred are choosing flutter and dropping react native like discord.

flutter does not have live update as it gets compiled to binary. Flutter bespokes design systems. Flutter just re-invents the wheel. React native has live updates, native UI components and does not re-invents the wheel

Reinvent the wheel... Yes google will reinvent it, then in the future, they will own it. All others can just use the new wheel.. End of the story..

@@topGfanboy lol why everyone will adopt it. Apple will not be accepting it. And the main reason people are using flutter for mobile dev is to not touch the ios ecosystem. And thus google will have to consider that because of huge ios users in west. So in a bigger picture react native presents a decent solution. native ui built with 75% of your existing dev skills.

@@topGfanboy and even this re-inventing the wheel is not 100% correct (some UI interactions are not perfect). Apple can change their design systems anytime and everyone will have to adopt it by re-inventing the wheel again. the code provided by flutter is in binaries. once the app is installed on IOS then you cannot force the user to update the app and there is no way to deliver bugfix/exploits on the fly. I know the technology is backed by google (a big tech firm). But one should analyse all the pitfalls and then choose one

@@shahabgohar3350 RN is dead... There is no need for a toy language to the mobile os.. Just go and do the work on browser.. React native is pretty useless and slow like hell.. Dart compiles to machine code and in the future they can even replace all the android SDK with dart.. This is Google, they must have some plans.. This is not a toy language like js. This is dart

people says flutter is faster then react native, But i have seen 100s of apps built with native android code still lags and have huge size of 60-100MB, In my opinion for 90% of the case if you can write optimised code you can achieve same speed in all else you will end up spreading poop. I had build android app (TWA) with react.js and still have smooth experience

Its not any competion bro react native win listnen here is the reason you can design whole app ui according to yours but in flutter you cant beacuse of built in widgets ok bro but if you eant fast then go with flutter but as per market you must go with react native 🎉❤

you can still create pretty much anything you want in flutter as well. The widgets are there for convenience and in most cases you have a flutter widget for something. Also builtin widgets are opensource so you fork it and just modify it completely to the heart's content. Rn is great as well. but debugging RN apps is a nightmare

U Missed A point ....RN uses Native UI components but flutter doesn't .....And that's the reason many dev(including me) prefer RN over Flutter

react native is also a part of android development. if you want to write code that is optimized for both iOS and android, go with react native... if you just want high performance and can bear righting code twice, go with native (swift for iOS or kotlin for android)
