Fluval Evo 13.5 Review

Here's the new Fluval Evo 13.5 saltwater aquarium. This my review on it. Very modern look to this all in one aquarium. Great for a nano reef with the built in sump. Mainly a lot of in sight for people on the fence about purchasing one of these aquariums. Any questions just leave in the comments below!

awesome tanks setup. i have a question for you. when you grow corals, is it the intensity of the light or color of the light that successfully grow corals? it seems that more expensive LED lights always have blueish hue.

Thought about reentering the Saltwater life. Was looking at this tank, but really want to know the power of the LED. I keep seeing different answers. Not looking for an SPS grower, but something that can handle an Anemone and LPS.

Briopsis/Green Wirey Algae just like Aquatic Angler said. I had an outbreak in my tank and it is very hard to remove manually. I bought a blue tuxedo urchin and he ate everything in a matter of days. I have had the urchin for about 6 months now.

Nince tank brother.. I have the same tank and I'll be honest with you my water is crystal clear compared to yours and I haven't modified the filter besides adding a pieces of poly filter. I will add a bag of chemi pure elite tonight, I don't think I really needed but I'm due for a carbon filter change so i decided to go with a chemipure to see what happens.. nice tank

coolwater411 well, I could've gotten mine at an introductory price. Most places will charge less on the first month or so to help push the product. As it gains popularity it could have been the reason for a more price premium.

My LFS got it the same month. Jumped right on it as soon as I saw it. Talk to your LFS if they carry their products. They should have no problem getting it for you. Thanks for watching!

You don't need to paint your tank black. You can use 3m window film. It works amazing and is not permanent. Super cheap DIY project... easier than rattle caning it.

Hi Joe, I like what you have done with your tank. I just pick this up and set it up last night. I would really like the pick up the light that you are using. Would it be possible to get the specs on your tank and any upgrades that you have done?

Can you fit a different skimmer on the fluval Evo 12 gallon? I was looking to get the tank but put a ghost skimmer from innovative marine tell me if you know or have the right measurements I look it up but I'm unsure it will fit

+Alexander Torres I'm not sure the dimensions of that skimmer. But you could put a coralife skimmer in its place.

Did you upgrade to CP2? If so, is it too much flow for the Evo? I'm trying to decide between cp1 or cp2.

David Garcia I did not. this is the CP1. I would recommend getting the CP2 and sim it at the wall of an aquarium so you still get a strong flow but not putting too much flow on coral, depending on your set-up of course. I'm saving for the ecotech MP10 currently

How long did you let your tank cycle im getting an evo just wondering?

Jackson Cournoyer this tank was an upgrade from a 5 gallon. I already had live rock and cycled media at that point. But at initial set up of the evo I waited another 2 weeks before adding anything new in. Give your self 4-6 weeks for a solid cycle. Add bacteria supplements and maybe a fish around week 3 or 4.
